Salvatore’s Tomato Pies is a Madison, Wisconsin pizza restaurant serving classic Italian-American tomato pies, fresh handmade pasta, and simple food done right. Our family has worked in food for generations—owning grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, and delis—building a deep respect for craft, quality, and feeding people well. Inspired by my grandfather Antonio, an immigrant and World War I veteran who built his life around food and community, we carry that approach forward today. We focus on well-executed pizza and pasta made with high-quality local ingredients, right down to the flour. When you order from Salvatore’s, you’re getting Madison pizza and Italian food shaped by experience, restraint, and care.

I have done take out from Salvatore’s from a different location but we decided to go downtown Madison in person . Came in with a group of 7 friends over the holidays and had a really good experience.
Salvatore’s maintains a staple menu of pizzas with the occasional rotating seasonal flavors . They offer two sizes a 10” and a 16”. They also have gluten free crusts in 10” as well . The ten inch is perfect for one person .
Our server was great and explained the menu to the group along with all the various cocktails . Little did I know but they have a full bar with numerous cocktails all of which were great including the two versions of old fashioned they offered .
We got Sal’s supreme , figgy piggy (always a favorite) , Joey bananas which does pack some heat , fat uncle Tony’s with the amazing pepperoni and a classic tomato pie . We mixed and matched amongst the group and some friends tried the gluten free crust which was very good.
The vibe of the Madison location has a fun and relaxed atmosphere with neon lights on the interior ceilings , a full bar and fun servers .
Parking is easy and is located in the adjacent garage in the back .

Had an amazing dinner at Salvatore’s Tomato Pie in Madison, WI! The restaurant has a super cute, cozy vibe with attentive and friendly service. We tried: Burrata with a fresh local salad, Italian Calabrian street corn, harvest salad, Rigatoni Bolognese, Shrimp Scampi with bucatini, and Hangar Steak with Frites….everything was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Service was exceptional.
The combination of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and authentic Italian flavors made the meal truly memorable. Highly recommend this spot for a date night, dinner with friends, or anyone looking for excellent Italian cuisine in Madison!

Our waiter was incredibly friendly and very kind. The pizza was really good too and they had gluten free crust available (not pictured). There is the chance of cross-contamination in the kitchen, but overall they were really accommodating!

Food was exceptional! We had 2 different pizzas, garlic bread, and cheese sticks. Atmosphere was ok. Music was a little too loud for having a conversation without feeling like you are yelling and it was kind of dark for taking kids. It was more of a romantic ambiance. Service was slow even though they weren’t very busy. We had to ask for drink refills and then ask again for them to actually bring the drinks. However, the servers were very polite.

Great pizza and nice ambiance as usual. What made our evening even better were the warm smile and friendly personality of our waitress Mel! She nicely engaged in joking conversation, went above and beyond to accommodate our special request, and frequently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Outstanding food and service — we’ll definitely be coming back!

I had an issue with a doordash order, and the staff at Salvatores responded quickly, and were very helpful in fixing the issue, far more helpful than anyone on doordashes end. Management was also quick to step in and help, and everyone was super friendly. I’ve been getting pizza from Sals for years, and have always appreciated their customer service and great quality pizza. Cannot recommend them enough!

It’s a small cozy place with great music and food. We were greeted with a friendly face and his service was great, even though he was the only server. We had a pepperoni and sausage tomato pie, the rigatoni, and the brussel sprouts and they were all delicious. The whole atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable. We recommend.

The dessert was pure magic. It was soul-soothing. Sweet, rich, and decadent, it felt like a warm hug, like a tiny vacation for my taste buds. It was the kind of dessert you close your eyes for and savor, letting the world melt away.

These are some of the best pizzas I have had, we went there and they made them fresh to order you could see the guy in the back making them and chopping the fresh veggies and putting them in their big pizza oven. We ordered 2 smaller pizzas it didnt take longer than 15 minutes and had a full pizza to take home, it was reasonably priced and truthfully I would go back any time I am in Madison. The atmosphere was great, I loved that they had little flowers and a candle on every table!
