We read great reviews and couldn’t wait to experience this “Honky Tonk”. Besides not serving food, there was a bartender, who had made no attempt to take our drink order. The place had a bar with about 4 or 5 people, who were obviously regulars. Bartender had at least two shots with them and had only been interested in this group. Once I finally had her attention, she seemed uninterested in providing service. We decided that it was 30 minutes of wasted time and still no drink order. The best part of this saloon was the large dog roaming and greeting.

We were super happy that they were open and stockton had a drink. Total for the two drinks was eighteen dollars.I left a twelve dollar tip.They ran the charge for fifty dollars!!!! I circled thirty dollars.Absolutely zero reason for that charge to have been fifty. Haven’t seen a place scam their customer like that in a lot of years, bad bad dog!!

Horrible service!!
I understand that a business can be busy. But I feel this business is built around locals and not tourists.
I feel they can be much more successful if they had more bartenders but their employees makes the consumer experience HORRIBLE.
All they care about is LOCALS.
My family and I visit often but when we come out for drinks this will definitely not be the spot.

Should call it the Smoky Dog Saloon. I took one step into this place and it had an overwhelming cigarette smoke smell, so I immediately left. Should have a separate outside area for smoking and not smogging out the whole place with cigarettes smoke . Maybe having a better smell would make it more of an inviting atmosphere.

Service sucks, I went yesterday and was sitting at the bar. One bartender happily served us while sitting at the bar. Then I asked for a bag of chips and the Big white bartender told me I needed to wait n line. Mind you the line was extremely long. I had already been sitting there about 20min. I figured two bartenders so one helps the line as she was, and the other helps the bar as we had got served our beers.
She thru me the bird when I asked what was her name? Then kicked me out all for a bag of lays potato chips ! I will never go back to this place again.
I am a bartender that is definitely no way you treat paying customers.

I’ve been here quite a few times and this time was not good. It was a Thursday night and the place was busy busy. We had a nice sized group of us but we were able to get a table right away.
There was 1 bartender, who was female and killing it, and a bar back. One employee who was off that night jumped in to try to help her but it was too late. Drinks took forever….. We decided to order 2 at a time so we wouldn’t have to come back for a little bit
Our group made the mistake of leaving tabs open and when we tried to cash out after 20-30 minutes of standing in line they informed us their system was down and they would need to re-swipe credit cards. I did not have my husbands card so I left the line. It says they will automatically charge you 20% on walked tabs which was well worth having to get back in that line.
Be aware this place does not have tip top service and with the summer months coming up it might be even worse

IT’S OPEN!!! 2 years in the making and world famous Salty Dog in PA is finally back in business. Same location, brand new facilities. They kept some of the same wood planking (written on by patrons) from the original structure. If you ever signed one their walls then come see if your plank was one of the ones saved. If you want to be a part of future history, then come to this new joint and add your signature on a brand new canvas!
