The service was top notch. We had the country fried steak and the chicken fried chicken. The chicken and mashed potatoes were good,but the country fried steak was tough and hard to chew. The Mac and cheese side was dry and disappointing also. We did not try any actual steaks this visit but I’ve heard they are very good and will be the choice next time.

Read the reviews prior to coming, so was a bit apprehensive. I’m so glad we decided to give it a try- you should too. Our experience was fantastic! The range rattlers were so good-def recommend. The steak was prepared correctly & very flavorful. Service was great and attentive too. Don’t let other not perfect reviews, sway you. It was 5 stars for us!

We made reservations a couple weeks in advance. When we checked in, the dining room was fairly empty but we were seated at a table in the bar area. When we questioned the server about this, we were told that the tables in the dining room were reserved, by which she meant that people in there had made a reservation at which time we told her we had reservations as well. She said she’d have the manager come by….never did. We never did get a satisfactory explanation but decided to make the best of it. We ordered an appetizer and had to ask several times for individual plates. Three of us ordered steaks, 2 med rare and 1 well. My med rare came back raw. I sent it back, waited 7-8 minutes and the manager brought it back. Rather than waiting to see if it was cooked properly this time, he took off and it was still raw. I then had to hunt down the server and manager who came several minutes later. At that point I told them I no longer wanted the meal as the other 3 people had nearly finished their meals. To top it off, we all had gift cards for Saltgrass but they aren’t ‘taking them yet’. We will probably try them again as the steak I tasted from my husband’s plate was very good. Hopefully our next experience will be better than our first.

Overall experience was good, food was solid, loved the bowl of mushrooms, steak was ok, little overcooked. Drinks were good, service was great, in and out in an hour for dinner. AC was way too cold, servers even complained of being cold. Would be nice if a steakhouse offered onions as an add on. Will go back on occasion.

We got there at 7:15 and were told their cook just threw up and went home and they were not taking any more customers. She said the manager was in the back doing the cooking and wanted to go home. But, when we went by at 8:30 there were people still going in. She should be fired, we would have spent $100 or more there.
