The food is absolutely incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they truly care about quality ingredients and creative combinations. Every bite feels intentional and delicious. Everything tastes homemade and crafted with love.
The staff is just as amazing as the food. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. They make you feel valued and taken care of, which makes the whole experience even better.
I’ll definitely be back again and again!
We didn’t make a reservation (bold, I know), and I thought we completely fumbled the plan. But the staff was so accommodating and seated us in the wine room — which ended up being such a hidden gem.
The ambiance in there was beautiful —
If you get a chance def go check it out!
The food was delicious, but what truly elevated the night was the service. The staff was funny, warm, and made us feel so comfortable. It made her birthday feel special from start to finish. Highly recommend.
Hospitality is a clear strength. The service was attentive and well paced, with staff who were engaged, welcoming, and consistently pleasant. There was an ease to the interaction that made the experience feel relaxed rather than scripted, and the steady presence of the wait staff ensured that nothing felt overlooked.
The Drive In burger, served with house-cut fries, was a standout. The burger was cooked perfectly, flavorful, and unapologetically messy in the best way—exactly what a great burger should be. The fries were well prepared and complemented the dish without trying to compete with it.
The panna cotta appetizer, served with pita bread, was an unexpected highlight. It was balanced, satisfying, and thoughtfully presented, offering a lighter yet indulgent start to the meal that set a strong tone for what followed.
In addition to the food, the wine list deserves mention. It is well curated and offers solid options to pair with the menu, further elevating the overall experience.
The Salt Mill is a strong addition to the Walla Walla dining scene and an easy recommendation for anyone visiting the area. It delivers quality food, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it well worth the stop.
January 2026 – they are doing a 3 course menu for $45. We would strongly recommend this as well. Rotates weekly.
We were blown away by the service and overall experience. Our server, Theo, had one of the most genuinely positive and welcoming vibes I have ever encountered. His smile was infectious, his energy made our entire day, and he consistently checked on us without hovering. We asked for recommendations and he offered thoughtful suggestions that ended up being spot on. We eat out often and this was easily some of the best service we have had anywhere.
We sat at the chefs table and I highly recommend it if you want an unforgettable experience. The open kitchen gave us the chance to chat with the sous chef, Noe, and watch him work with passion and skill. He was friendly, personable, and gave us a glimpse into the personality and heart behind the food.
We ordered the steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare with a drizzle of salsa macha, served over steamed root vegetables and frijoles negros. We learned that Noe created this dish himself, and he absolutely nailed it. It was balanced, flavorful, and beautifully plated.
Salted Mill delivered more than a great meal. It was a full experience filled with warmth, creativity, and connection. It is rare to walk out of a restaurant smiling and laughing the way we did.
Five stars, highly recommend. ️
The wine list was extensive and well-curated, and we happily settled on one of our favorite trusted local vintners (Woodward Canyon) for a beautiful bottle of Barbera. Our party of three all ordered the same dish -The Steak – and it was innovative and absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly cooked medium rare, it had a gorgeous crusted outer edge while the inside was literally flawless. The steak sat on a purée of black beans with salsa macha that was deeply flavorful, rich, and perfectly balanced, elevating the dish in a way that felt both bold and refined. The squash that accompanied the steak was so good that my squash hating daughter ate every bite. Bravo!
All in all, our only regret is that we live four hours away – but we will absolutely be making another trip soon, both to revisit The Salted Mill and to enjoy more time in the lovely Walla Walla region.
Interesting and yummy cocktail menu.
The ambience is delightful. Modern yet cozy. Beautiful lighting, and of course the unique barrel table feature. We were there on the early side, but the noise level on a Friday evening was energetic but not so loud you couldn’t hear your own conversation.
Can’t recommend enough!!
We all enjoyed our meals and desserts.
The ambiance is beautiful.
Definitely one to come back to when we visit again.
