We had a wonderful experience at The Salt Shack and will definitely be returning. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with seating that’s essentially outdoors and spread across several covered areas. It does get busy, but that just adds to the lively, waterfront vibe.
Parking is located in a nearby field, and while it’s not right next to the entrance, there is plenty of space. If you’re with someone who has difficulty walking, you can easily drop them off at the entrance and then pull over to park. There are handicap parking spots available, along with wheelchair ramps, which we really appreciated, a it was easier for my grandmother to walk up instead of stairs.
The food was excellent. We ordered the fish of the day (I wish I remembered the name!) and it was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The shrimp basket was also delicious and hit the spot. My daughter ordered the fish bites. She’s a bit picky and wasn’t a big fan of the tartar sauce since she prefers a more plain, traditional version (which they didn’t have). For the adults, we enjoyed the fish bites and the tartar sauce. And make sure you save room for dessert. We got the key lime pie and it was delicious!
Between the great food, relaxing atmosphere, and thoughtful accessibility, The Salt Shack delivered a fantastic experience. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

It was out 5th time eating here this past Sunday. I always make it a priority to eat here while visiting Tampa. However, I always eat my food too fast to review. Loretta was our server and was the past time we came here as well. She is always a joy and blessing to have as she is well versed with the menu and she is very pleasant and always on time. The ambiance here takes your breath away. It is right on the bay and has outdoor seating all over. This day we were very fortunate to get to sit right by the bay with a cozy little table for 2. I always get the fish basket and add shrimp. It is always on point. My husband got the blackened grouper sandwich and omg the flavor is bursting from all angles. The margaritas are very good, my fave is the skinny and the bar tenders are very knowledgeable on how to make these. We look forward to moving here one day we will def be regulars!

I’ve been to Salt Shack a few times now and I’ve never had a bad experience. The food has always been good, and I’ve tried multiple dishes. Everything has been consistent each time I’ve gone.
Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait depending on when you visit, but I’ve also gone and been seated right away. Either way, the view makes it worth it. You truly can’t beat being right on the water.
The atmosphere is lively and busy. It can get a little loud, but not to the point where you can’t have a conversation. Each time I’ve been, there has been live music, which really adds to the ambiance and makes the experience even better.
We have a lot of visitors come in from our home state, and this is one of the places we always take our guests. It’s a great spot to show off the area.
Overall, great food, great vibes, and an unbeatable waterfront view. Definitely a solid spot to check out.

Very nice service and beautiful scenery but birds perch above you while eating and actually got pooped on head. Servers very nice and moved us but odd setup. Food great flavor but advertised as large shrimp for big portion and came out with only 8 small to medium size shrimp with small order of fries at $22. Very small portion for the price.

Had a piña colada at the main bar while waited to be seated, 2-3 minute wait only as bar tender took care of us right away.
Coconut shrimp for appetizer was crispy and delicious, smash shrimp burger and bacon cheeseburger with fries were very good.
Place is very popular so plan accordingly as they only do only walk-ins and parking can get crowded. Great location for a sunset photo.

Had a lunch here on a very pleasant day with my colleagues. The spot is lovely with a really nice view—total vibe! Service is quick and friendly, and the menu is huge and tempting. I was let down by the appetizer portions, though, and the mains were nothing to write home about. They were okay, but just lacked that ‘wow’ factor. It felt a bit ordinary for my taste. I was expecting more.

This place is amazing! We absolutely loved the food and drinks, and the atmosphere couldn’t be better.
I got the painkiller and the shack pina colada. Both were , so I highly recommend them for those that like a fruity and strong cocktail.
And for food my friends and I shared the calamari and fried oysters for starters, and shared the Catch of the Day (fire grilled) as our entree. All were great, but especially the fried oysters and fish. Those were the stars for us, and something we would definitely get again!
Our waitress was so sweet and fun to talk to, as well as very attuned to our needs. I hate that I forgot her name, but she is a beautiful young woman, originally from the New England area and has yet to try some good southern food! Haha
Overall, this place is great, and I’d definitely recommend coming for dinner around sunset to enjoy the wonderful view!

Can’t say enough good things about this establishment. The atmosphere was excellent, I love the fact that it is right on the water in an excellent location. Plus the nautical theme really shines through here. Salt Shack On The Bay is a great example of what a seafood restaurant should be in terms of the atmosphere. The dishes were equally as impressive with a wonderful menu. I tried the lobster bisque which was one of the best lobster bisque’s I have ever tried. Next was the Gaspar’s Tuna Tartare which I absolutely loved. Perfectly done the dish really came together and was complemented by very tasty and crispy house made chips. I also ordered the clams and the fish basket. Both were amazing! The service here is also world class. My waiter was excellent and really showed a passion for his work, also very knowledgeable about the menu and the customer experience! I really enjoyed my dining experience at Shalt Shack On The Bay. So glad I came across this restaurant!!

A friend brought me to The Salt Shack teo months ago, and the food and atmosphere were great! I recently brought my wife there and everything was just as good, so kudos for consistency.
You can’t beat the view of Tampa Bay right in front of you, especially around sunset. You can choose a picnic table with umbrella right on the water or pick a table in one of their roofed open air deck areas.
Casual and fun place to get good food and drinks.
