We had a great time dining in. Our food was delicious and stunningly decorated. Our waitress Marci was very attentive, welcoming and answered all of our questions about the ingredients and the founding story of the restaurant. We ordered the chorizo omelette and chorizo hash. Both came with ample serving. The eggs were farm-raised, presenting an undeniably orange sunny color that you cannot get with store-bought eggs. The hash browns were done perfectly, crispy seared and have great flavors. I strongly recommend this place. And make sure you come early to avoid the crowd. By the time we left there was a line waiting for a table!

Food was so delish! Love the option to pick 2 different Benedict styles although I would suggest the kitchen make a benny with both chorizo and green chile! The green chile hollandaise sauce was a great touch! I would definitely go again! The lemonberry ricotta pancakes with the cream cheese whip cream were so yummy, breakfast burrito was huge and flavorful, and the steak and eggs were good but the steak was a bit chewy. Next time I will try the churro waffle! Our young server was so sweet and attentive and handled all our questions well.

We’ve been to Salt & Pepper many times, so this review reflects multiple visits, with the main focus on our most recent one on December 6.
We enjoy going to the Prescott Farmers Market on Saturdays and usually follow it with a nice breakfast. For a while, Salt & Pepper was our go-to spot, but over the past year or so it has become a secondary choice. There are two main reasons: declining attention to detail (the biggest issue) and mediocre drip coffee.
On this latest visit, my coffee cup had a large lipstick mark on it even though it was sitting untouched, and the menus were quite worn. In previous visits, we’ve had to ask for clean silverware because it had visible food debris — not just water spots, which would be understandable during a rush. Additionally, the restaurant itself could use some TLC: the baseboards and hostess stand are beat up, and the whole place would benefit from a fresh coat of paint.
The coffee itself tastes like cheap, high-volume Sysco brew. Meanwhile, other breakfast spots in Prescott (like B Simple and The Local) have partnered with local roasters for much better beans.
So why do we still keep Salt & Pepper in the rotation? Simple: the food is consistently tasty, and the service is solid. This time I ordered the breakfast burrito (a longtime favorite). With the red-and-green chile combo, you get two distinct flavor profiles in one hearty dish. My only suggestion: add a second egg — the single fried egg on top is nice, but two would make it perfect. My wife got the Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich, which was well-balanced and excellent. She’s also enjoyed their bowls on previous visits. One item that could be better on the food front are the hash browns, we’ve ordered a side a few times and in each case they were not crispy and just a sad square on a side plate that seemed extra thin.
Service is efficient — coffee refills stop when you say “no more,” food arrives quickly, and the bill is handled promptly, which is great when you’re starting a busy Saturday. One of the owners is almost always on-site; he’s friendly, approachable, and clearly cares about the operation. I haven’t yet mentioned the recent fit-and-finish issues to him, but I appreciate that he’s present and open to feedback.
Despite the shortcomings in cleanliness, maintenance, and coffee quality, the consistently good food and reliable service earn Salt & Pepper an optimistic 4 stars from us. I hope they address some of these details soon — it could easily become a 5-star spot again.

Brunch at Salt & Pepper Cafe was excellent! The Hash Chorizo is by far the best I’ve ever had, the potatoes are seasoned perfectly, and the maple sriracha bacon was absolutely heavenly. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious meal!

8/29/25…My wife and I went for breakfast. I had the days special…biscuit and gravy, she had the chorizo and funky monkey waffles. Very delicious, great service but the parking can be frustrating.

The food was excellent, in my opinion. I ordered the salt and pepper breakfast, which is bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a slice of toast. The service was fantastic. Get there early because they get packed. The staff and the people were all friendly and having a good time. Love it!

Was served these tacos on a dirty plate!! No apology received, attitude from server. Never again. Never. ** Follow up, the response from the restaurant below highlights the reason for the review; No mention of the dirty plates or bad service, only to say I didn’t have to pay for the food and it was good service, like he was there. The problem isn’t the restaurant, it’s the owners attitude. Just so we’re clear, I wasn’t going to pay for a meal served on a dirty plate, I took one bite and saw the plate and I was done. Read the reviews, I’m not the only one who has been less than happy with S&P.

Super busy on a Friday mid morning, which speaks to its popularity! Service is great and the food is so good! The Churro French Toast was absolutely sinful. The only con is the parking lot is tiny and none of the lots around it let you park there. We had to park at the Angry Crab Shack and walk over.

Had breakfast here this morning and it was fantastic! I ordered the Classic Benedict and a side of bacon — both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The hollandaise was spot on, and the service was friendly and fast. Great local spot with a cozy, welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

Recommended by our tour guide. So we went the next day and it was phenomenal! Apparently the cook is a trained chef. The gravy was so wonderful! Portions were huge! Will definitely come back!

My husband and I stopped in here for breakfast today. It was really yummy! I got the waffle sampler because all of the waffles sounded good. I think that was a good choice. All the different flavors worked really well as waffles!

I also got a prickly pear mimosa and mango juice, both were really delicious, I mixed them together and that was even better to me 🙂

10/10 would go back again
