Went here for our anniversary. It was amazing! Very quiet and personal. The menu was even printed with our names. Try the scallops! They melt in your mouth, cooked to perfection!

Went there for the first time last night. Old house with small separate rooms. Low light and quiet, which was nice. Food was a little pricey, but it was good and the service was excellent. I got a little nervous when I saw a musician setting up thinking it was the end of our quiet dinner. He kept the volume low and the songs were slow, it was nice. Overall happy with the experience.

I had my birthday dinner at the McLeod House Bistro 5 years ago and I’m just now getting around to writing a review. Half our party ordered the Chilean sea bass and the other half had the duck. Both were amazing and the service was great! Nice atmosphere. Thanks.

I was very surprised by the McLeod House Bistro when I first visited. This small, fairly upscale restaurant is quite different from most other restaurants in Citrus County. Offering some unique food and alcohol selections, I was overjoyed with the level of sophistication the menu had as a whole. Prices were a bit on the high side for Citrus County, but they are fairly average (almost cheap) if you are used to dining in any large city. Portion size is fairly decent and all the food we tried tasted wonderful.

My only complaint is how small the actual venue is, but being squeezed into an historic building obviously has its limits. Luckily, there is a beautiful patio area outside that offers much more room for guests.

Excellent quality of food with some really tasty menu items, though the selection is somewhat limited. Service is excellent, though a little slow, probably due to the small size of the facilities. The interior is quite homey and a touch romantic, and the guitarist plays some lovely music.

This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion, and it seems like that’s really their specialty. They will ask you if you’re celebrating a birthday or anniversary when you make your reservation (which they recommend). When we celebrated my birthday, they had printed off special menus with my name on them, and it seemed everyone at the restaurant knew it was my special day and wished me a happy birthday. They gave me a free slice of their homemade Key Lime pie with meringue ($7), and it was delicious!

The prices were about the same as a Carrabba’s, and I feel like it’s a good value for the experience. I’d give 4.5 stars if I could, but for Inverness and what the owners are trying to accomplish, I’ll round up to 5. Highly recommend!

Absolutely splendid dining experience. My girlfriend and I took the time to drive from Crystal River to try this place out.. and we were not let down. They have an outstanding menu.. Great presentation.. But most of all the service.. Ambiance.. And the taste of the food itself.. To die for. 🙂 Well worth the drive, the money, and the wait. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Chef makes the best chicken salad I have tasted since my truly southern Grandmother passed. Helpful & knowledgeable staff, locals love to eat here and we go once a week. Full wine list, NEVER disappointed.

First time here but not the last! It’s a bit of a drive for us, but we were looking for someplace special to celebrate our double birthdays. The atmosphere was lovely, we really enjoyed the dinner music, and the food was amazing. I think we’ve found our “special place” here in Florida.

Always a great meal and tonight was perfection. We started with escargot, then I had the grouper and Lisa, the duck. Finished with coffee and creme brulee. Every bite was epic. I love this place.
