We had dinner at Salt Life Food Shack and ordered a variety of dishes across the table; everything was excellent. I ordered from the gluten-free menu: the wood-grilled fish sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the house salad was fresh and well put together. Others in our group tried the chicken Alfredo, hamburgers, sushi, and soups, plus a few additional dishes; all of it was very tasty and came out well prepared.
Service was a standout; our waitress was attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly. The atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and the live band added the perfect touch to the evening. We’ll definitely be back.

We had been staying in the historic district overnight but wanted to spend time at St Augustine beach before returning home.
The menu and good reviews convinced us to have lunch here. Huge restaurant with a lovely terrace upstairs looking over to the sea. We had a table up there next to the bar. There seemed to be confusion about who was serving us as we waited for some time to take our order. In the end a member of the bar staff looked after us.
There is a good selection of food on the menu – mainly seafood orientated as you would expect. I had seen someone have oysters at the bar so ordered a dozen with a side salad and my wife ordered the Asian salmon salad.
I’m sorry to say my oysters were the most tasteless I’ve ever eaten so didn’t really enjoy them. My wife’s salad was tasty and the salmon perfectly cooked but both of us felt the salad leaves were soggy – probably because the dressing had been applied much too early – which took away some of the enjoyment.

We sat outside at the top floor so we could see the ocean!! The staff was very attentive and so helpful! We had shrimp pineapple skewers with rice. We shared our food! The dessert was off the charts good too!! What a wonderful experience. Plus they have restrooms on each floor and an elevator!!

1st time visiting Salt Life Food Shack. The building was well thought out with an indoor / outdoor bar. There is a combination of indoor and outdoor dining including a rooftop patio. We both had some conch chowder. It was a little spicy which I loved, my wife not so much. We also shared a shrimp tempura sushi roll. It was very good as well. If I’m back in town I’ll definitely be back. Keep up the good work Salt Life!

The food here was amazing! For appetizers , I ordered the calamari. It was delicious. Slightly crunch on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. For my main course I got the skirt steak. The steak was cooked perfectly. I ate a bit too slow so the last 3 pieces were fully cooked. The rice was actually the star of the show. I’m not of fan of rice at restaurants but THIS rice was flavorful. My friend ordered the fried grouper and added fried shrimp. The grouper could have been heavier on the seasoning but it was overall good. The shrimp was seasoned well and very tasty! I would come back and try something different and order the calamari again.

It was my first time visiting Saint Augustine Beach and Salt Life Food Shack. My experience was fantastic! There are right across the street from beach access. From the street you could hear the live music. They were busy but I didn’t wait long to get my order. Which was very delicious. I got Steak Tacos and asked for side of pineapples (you have to try it together trust me you will love it)
If you are in area looking for great place and reading reviews to figure out is this place good… yes, it’s great! I will come back again when road leads me to Saint Augustine again.

Salt Life Food Shack on A1A was an absolutely amazing experience! Mariah, our waitress, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, and the whole establishment had such a great vibe. There’s just something special about enjoying great food with the ocean right there; it doesn’t get much better than this!

I was very surprised to get my glass of Shampagne in whiskey glass. Never had it before in my life as world traveler. The bar tender was not surprised, she just said that’s what we have. The fact is that an extra step could make a change!! The food was good.
