Let me start off with this is an expensive restaurant. I personally think Salt is worth the money as long as you are getting particular food there. Luke was our server and did a great job covering our table. He helped answer any questions about the menu and what would be a good choice to have. While their cheeseburger is very good you can find a cheaper option elsewhere. You need to order food that is unique to Salt. The Kung Pao Shrimp is probably the highlight of the restaurant for me. We got the fish n chips, the curly roll and cheeseburger. For dessert the key lime tart and Marie Antoinette. The fish and chips weren’t bad but I felt they were a little soft and could’ve been more crisp. The curly roll is a great sushi roll. The key lime tart was a perfect portion after the large meal and I destroyed it. The Marie Antoinette was a great option for someone with more dietary restrictions but still remained delicious.

Should have taken more photos of the food.

We sat at the bar on a busy saturday night. The owner came around and greated us when we took our seats. We started with drinks. The bartenders were ready with recommendations. Drinks were great and recommendations on point. Its worth noting, our water glasses never got past half empty the whole night. The staff were sure to notice and refill.

For food we started with the kung pao shrimp. Fantastic! Crunchy and perfectly cooked. The sauce was rich with a hint of spice. The citrus cole slaw was a great palate clenser between bites of shrimp.

Second, we tried the curly roll and the sea and salt from the sushi menu. Both were great but the curly roll stood apart.

We decided to split the parmesean crusted seabass to end the meal. Literal melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I’ve never had a bite feel so substantial on the fork but completely disintegrate when you take a bite. It was buttery and flavorful.

I would highly recommend Salt. I am looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

Nitpick points: we waited a little long for our sushi. This wasn’t a big concern as it was parents’ night out for us and we were happy to kill some time. Also both of my old fashioneds were a little sweet for my liking.

Salt gave us the most memorable first date night as a married couple. From start to finish, everything was absolutely fabulous. We started with the bone marrow and the seasonal crudo—both beautifully presented and full of rich, vibrant flavor. For entrées, we enjoyed the lamb with scallops and the filet with scallops. The lamb initially came out overcooked, but the team corrected it within minutes, and the finished dish was exceptional. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

The cocktails were another highlight, especially their martini board—creative, fun, and delicious. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of contemporary and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for a special evening.

A very special shout-out to Jonas, whose service exceeded all expectations. Attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely kind, he made the entire night feel effortless.

We will definitely be returning. Salt helped make our first married date night unforgettable.

I came for the Sangria “Birkin” and it did not dissapoint! Jason the bartender was absolutely amazing and the grilled cheese with bacon and cauliflower soup was excellent. We drove over an hour and it was worth it! GM was also very friendly and came around to ensure we were satisfied.

Plan a visit, you will not be dissatisfied!

I wanted to try a new place and Salt is very new to Carmel. A very pleasant dinner! The noise was not to bad even though we were seated a little close. The food… DELICIOUS!
We had the crab cakes as an appetizer and the Kung Pao Shrimp. Both YUMMY! The crab cakes are meaty and just delicious! I had the sea bass and my friend had the lamb lollipops.
The Sea Bass was PERFECT! Great serving size! The 3 Lamb Lollipops were mouthwatering! Great portions! Seriously. The traffic in Carmel would keep me away but NOT after eating here. It truly is a very nice place to enjoy your food. Too stuff for dessert! Thank you very much Salt!

The food was absolutely amazing. I had scallops and risotto for my dinner with the truffle butter and it was so good. We also tried the kung pau shrimp appetizer which was not only delicious but a great size too, usually I expect shrimp appetizers to be well shrimpy, but this was a big shareable bowl! Also the spicy tuna sushi was great.

Service was very friendly and helpful.

Only comment for improvement was that on my reservation I chose the dining area and was sat in the bar, we did not really want to sit on a high top and a louder environment but it was fine after a glass of wine I forget all about the minor inconvenience.

I visited Salt in Carmel. Even though the restaurant was packed, the service was good — the bartender was friendly and the manager was very attentive.
The food overall was good: the oysters were just okay, the Caesar salad was nicely done, and the fish special was delicious.
For a new spot, they’re off to a solid start. Definitely worth checking out and seeing how they continue to grow.

My husband surprised me at work and took me to lunch here and it was amazing! I had the grilled cheese and lobster bisque and it was fire! My husband had the fish and chips and it was good, but he was definitely eyeing my meal the whole time. We can’t wait to come back for the dinner menu!

10/10 I would recommend and return! The food is amazing and service is personable! My favorite is the scallops with chimichurri and broccolini! Their off the dock is an Alaskan halibut with kale, potatoes and caviar that is gluten free right now & it is amazing! The gluten free seasonal macaroon with berries is a delicious dessert! Come check them out!!

My partner and I were big fans of Salt on Mass (shoutout to Brandon over there!) after having my birthday dinner there a few years back and discovering they had some of the best cocktails in the city. When we moved to Carmel this spring Salt was the place we were most sad about leaving behind downtown, so we were thrilled to learn about this one opening in Carmel! We’ve been in 3 times now— twice for drinks, and this morning to try out the brunch menu.

First, on each visit the staff has been incredibly friendly and kind, from the bartenders, waitstaff, etc. This morning the manager recognized us from our last visit and thanked us for returning which was very kind! Luke was our waiter and did a great job even though he had quite a few tables to keep track of.

I ordered the Herb Chicken Crepe and it was fantastic, my partner got the grouper sandwich which was also super flavorful and cooked well. We both got mimosas as well— they were good, though some of the signature cocktails on the menu like Dew of the Sea definitely rank higher in my opinion.

We will definitely be returning, we’re looking forward to trying more menu items and thankful to have a local version of our go-to cocktail spot!
