Salsa Verde is a great spot in Bar Harbor. We came in the off season and not much is open but we lucked out here. The complimentary sopapillas with honey are delicious as are the chips and salsa (loved the green salsa which had a nice kick to it). We enjoyed the carnitas tacos, chicken burrito, and sopapillas with carnitas. Also enjoyed a pomegranate margarita and Tubular on draught. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while walking around Bar Harbor. No problem getting a seat at lunchtime.
We ordered the chips and salsa appetizer as a starter with a medium salsa that had a bite to it. The chips were great and the salsa was a nice combination.
We also ordered the appetizer of cheese Quesadillas, served with a red tomato salsa. Very fresh and quite good.
Service is friendly and helpful.
Great spot for a Mexican meal.

BEYOND GRATEFUL. So, my wife and I came in on a late Wednesday night and stayed at the Grand Hotel and walked to Salsa Verde for a quick dinner after our day of travel. Usually I take photos of our meal to share on a post, but we were tired and hungry and got right to it when it arrived. We kept it simple and shared 4 street tacos, Chicken and Calabacitas. They were delicious, and to prove it, here is a photo of our empty plates (ha ha). It was so good, that on Thursday, after our travels in Arcadia National Park, and waking and shopping in Bar Harbor, we decided to stop in for an afternoon meal before we left for Vermont. We both had Enchiladas, Chicken and Calabacitas. Again, Delicious. HOWEVER, when we sat down, I put the shopping bag with several items in it under our table, and would you believe, we walked out without it. That was on a Thursday. We traveled for 3 more days all over New England and flew back to Nashville out of Boston on Sunday. That night, it was discovered we left our bag somewhere?? We could only remember Salsa Verde as the last place. I contacted them online on Monday, but they were closed. Yet they responded, but said they don’t remember seeing the bag. My wife was determined that someone found it and set it aside and prayed earnestly that this was the case. On Wednesday, ownership reached out to tell us Avery, the manager had set it aside safely until someone claimed it. CAN YOU believe it? Truly there are honest and moral people in this world and we are blessed that Avery did the right thing for us. Today, I sent ownership a UPS label to return our items to us in Tennessee. So grateful for these people. Oh Yea, Tell Avery hello and thank you when you visit Salsa Verde, and you will because the food is GREAT! Muchas Gracias!!

The food was amazing. The hot salsa was really something – so spicy, but absolutely delicious! Portion sizes were great. Service was excellent. However, the prices seemed a little high. I ordered a Paloma that was just okay, and at $15, it definitely wasn’t worth it. The drinks overall weren’t great, especially given the cost. Would recommend this place tho!

I visited Acadia National park for the first time and had a craving for some Mexican food. The place had really really some good food i must say. Loved the Burrito, Mexican style Enchiladas and Sopaipilas. Amazing food.

One of each taco and all delicious! Came for tacos and wasn’t disappointed! I think carnita was my favorite but who can tell when they all are good? Fast service & sat on the couch which was cozy and different. Sopaipilla @ beginning was delightful

This is not freshly prepared food. They obviously make batches of food and let it sit around like Chipotle. Our chicken tacos were so awful we threw them out. The chicken was old and crunchy and inedible. We also paid to have chicken added to a quesadilla and it tasted so awful we had to pick all the chicken off to eat it. Without the chicken the quesadilla was good. Sopaipillas tasted like they had been cooked in old grease. We got take out and the beans serving was literally a tablespoon in a ketchup cup. Maybe it’s better eating in but the takeout was awful and you get ripped off on the servings.

This place was AMAZING and the service blew us away. On a weeklong trip in Maine and honestly this has still been the best food we’ve had all week.
We were seated fairly quickly despite it being pretty busy. Drinks were excellent all around and every single dish we ordered was fantastic. Warning: even if you like spicy, the hot sauce is QUITE hot!!
Recommend: Chips and Guacamole, Carne Asada Tacos, Calabecita tacos, Salsa Verde margarita cocktail
Our server, Kelly, blew us out of the water. She was very cheerful and happy to share her knowledge about the town. Also, the drink I ordered was a little too strong for my liking and she checked on me twice and offered an extra pump of simple syrup to balance it out for me. No server at a casual restaurant has ever done that before!! 10/10! The other servers who dropped things off at the table were also all friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves there.
Extra shoutout to the restaurant for decorating for Halloween and encouraging/allowing servers to dress up! Felt very festive and nice.

Amazingly good Mexican in a place that’s not necessarily known for that type of cuisine – we got the veggie enchilada and it’s probably the best enchilada I ever had – bottomed up like usual but a 3 layered enchilada – so delicious- they also serve fresh baked warm sopapillas complimentary and it was a pleasant surprise – definitely try it with honey – Mezcalita was strong and kids enjoyed their meals as well – anyone vegetarian out there will be able to enjoy this place as they do have vegetarian beans! Would go again in a heartbeat! Excellent service as well and clean restrooms!

Really great tacos.
Great service by Avery. We had calabacitas tacos which are vegetarian. They are really good, tasty and flavorful. Recommend this place.
