Last night about 7pm we called to order a pizza for pick up. The first call went to an answering machine the second call someone picked up and sounded like he was either out side or driving in a car there was so much background noise! We ordered a medium buffalo chicken pizza and told it would be ready in 25-30 minutes! We were already out so we arrived 10 minutes later! We went in to wait and were handed our pizza without any wait! The pizza was sitting on top of the oven and barely warm which was very odd! The pizza is usually hot when we pick it up! We arrived home within 5 minutes opened the box and the pizza looked like it had been sitting in a warmer all day! It was dried out, the few pieces of chicken on it was so shriveled and small I almost thought he gave us the wrong pizza! The buffalo sauce was dried up and the size of the pizza was concerning! It did not look like the pizza came from Sals! We have been customers of Sals in Gloucester since it opened as well as other Sals outside of Gloucester for many years so we are very aware of the quality we usually get when we order from you! To say last nights pickup was disappointing is an understatement! If I ever order from you again I will order in person and open the box before I leave! This experience was clearly unacceptable, very disappointing, and not the service we have had in the past!

This experience had a plethora of issues.
I could not find a single silver lining. And at this point not only will I avoid this location but I will avoid the entire Sals chain.
First off, I didn’t even get to order fully. I ordered my pizza and waited for the attendant to put it into his computer, then he rushed me and told me to put my card in instead of letting me order my drinks and sides.
But heres the real kicker.
I ordered my pizza, watched them start stretching the dough.
Hey guys. PRETTY sure if pizza dough hits the dirty dusty plaster ceiling tiles we should probably throw it away right? Did they? Nope! They put sauce on it and threw it right in the oven!
The pizza was falling apart and even if i had wanted to eat it at this point I wouldn’t be able to. On account of the toppings sliding off. Genuinely thing the health department needs to look into this place because nobody behind the counter seems capable of working in food service let alone proper food safety.

To save time and aggravation on mother’s Day, I ordered pizza delivery. Pretty hungry, since I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, ordered at quarter after 3:00 and told the pizza would get there by 3:45. At 4:30, I called Sal’s to see what was going on. The toast delivery person had not shown up, and the woman I talked to had no idea when she would. I asked her to cancel my order. Not trusting her competence, since, as I said, no one had called me to update that there was no delivery person, I called toast at their 24-hour number. Their representative wanted me to sign in on a website, even though getting a delivery through toast from Sal’s already required that I put in my personal information. The woman at toast told me they couldn’t cancel it and I would have to do it at the store. Since my phone had just pinged that my pizza would actually get there at 5:00, not 3:45 as originally noted (did I mention that the woman at Sal’s was telling me my pizza wouldn’t be cold because it was in the warming oven? Does anyone like pizza that’s been in a warming oven for hours?), I called Sal’s again to make sure my order was canceled. Then it showed up on my driveway, 20 minutes before the order I had finally put in with my regular pizza place showed up. I will not be using Sal’s or anyone that delivers through toast again.

Pizza is delicious and portion sizes for slices VS price? you can’t beat it! Workers are friendly and personable. I eat here all time and I’m greatful they are right down the street! Keep up the good work guys!!

This was so disappointing. It was flavorless and gross. The garlic knots were flavorless tiny bread balls. I will never eat here again.

I suggest not ordering for delivery. It will automatically use Door dash even if you don’t have an account with them. My pizza was delivered down the street and when I informed driver it wasn’t at my address she didn’t even bring it to me which is her whole job. I had to walk down to the neighbors and take my pizza off there fron step. Don’t be fooled Sal’s does not have a contract with door dash and will take no responsibility.

As for the Pizza Mmm delicious. Thanks Sal’s. Door dash not so much.

Incredibly delicious. It gets harder and harder to find a pizza joint that has great quality and consistency. This place does it EVERY TIME. Legends. The lot of you.

Special shout out to the dude with the pony tail, your positivity is particularly infectious

mmm cold garlic knots

Edit: I gave it another try after receiving refrigerator cold knots. The pizza wasn’t all that bad considering it’s from a gas station. The worker there didn’t say a word when I greeted her and neither when I said thank you. I guess what can you expect from gas station pizza.
