I have been here more than a handful of times at this point and this place never lets me down! I have only gotten the lunch special which is two slices and a fountain drink for about 8 bucks (not bad). Since moving down here from New York I have really struggled to find actual good pizza. This checks all the boxes for me. The crust is thin with a good crisp, the sauce has a nice tang and is not too sweet, the cheese is cheese (it’s good). The staff members are always friendly. I have returned and will continue to return when I want some quick and tasty slices.

I am originally from NY and Sal’s is by far the absolutely best authentic pizzeria. Everything on their menu rates a 5 star quality!
My all time favorite meal is their calzones.
Keep up the great work Sal’s!

Amazing pizza and great service!
The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavor — just like real New York-style pizza. The crust was perfect and the toppings tasted great. The staff were super friendly and fast with my order. The place has a nice, clean atmosphere and you can tell they care about their customers. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Sal’s NY Pizza to everyone I know!

Stopped here for a quick bit to eat. I got the lunch special: 2 cheese slices and a free drink. The pic of the pizza doesn’t look great but the pizza was very good!!! The crust was light and crispy….my favorite kind. And they didn’t overcook it when they heated it up. The staff was very polite. The place was clean. I would eat there again!

First time ordering. Used Uber Eats and pizza arrived lukewarm. Sausage and pepperoni. Pepperoni was spicy, sausage not so much. I thought the pizza was slightly above average, but nothing super special. Perhaps the temp was the issue. Will reheat leftovers tomorrow and see what happens.

Our go to pizza place. Our family loves the pizza, calzones, stromboli, subs and wings. I have also ordered large amounts for get togethers and they do not disappoint. I ordered for a cast party of 30+ and for a wedding rehearsal dinner of 30. We like to buy extra so we can have leftovers that we heat up in the air fryer. Closest thing to “Little Italy” in NYC that we have found nearby.

Best garlic knots I have had in the area. Pizza was very good and enjoyed the crust as well. Will be going back.

Sal’s on North Battlefield has moved into what used to be the Pizza Vera location in Woodford Square Shopping Center across from the Chesapeake Hospital. After years of going to the old place I have to say it’s great to have a pizza place in this location again.
If memory serves me right they just opened the doors about 4 maybe 5 weeks ago. They gutted the old place and built in a completely new modern kitchen and the dining room is still small and located in the front. It does seem a bit roomer now than previously.
The pizza is delicious with large NY Style slices and they’ll put anything you want on them. The lunch special is the best. 2 slices with 1 topping and a bottomless fountain soda for $5. That includes the tax. There is also some variations on the lunch special as well, for example you can get one slice and a salad for the same price.
We’ve been there about once a week since they opened and are definitely fans. Check them out!
