We ordered pizza two flavors and their sandwiches. We got good value, not expensive as we expected. Pizzas are great, I’ll order more if I get chance. Sandwiches are a little bit too salty. Overall quite good.

Had the Toscana for lunch. Bread was tough and the chips were stale to say at best. If they ask you to pay the $ 2.oo to upgrade the chips probably a good idea. It’s no wonder that they are known for there pizza. Don’t know , but it has to be better than this

Sal’s Market is located at ground level of Portofino Hotel. This market used to be my go-to eatery whenever I stayed at Portofino Hotel. Because they used to offer Italian cuisine at very very approachable price.

After a long day exploring the Universal Studios, I decided to check out Sal’s. After a pleasant ferry ride to Portofino, I ran into the market to place an order. I ordered a large size of Salvatore and a drink. And I waited. And waited more patiently. 30 minutes passed and I heard the cashier explaining to customers that pizza orders can take 45 minutes or longer. Well, they should’ve explain to me when I placed the order!! I got really pissed off at minute 52 and I was so ready to give this place a 1 star review.

At that moment, the pager vibrated and I picked up my pizza. Had my first bite and my anger disappeared. Oh boy, it was so good and just realized I only paid like $21? Looks like this is potentially the best valued meal in the Universal area. I am coming back here soon.

Not a bad place at all for a quick lunch while at the hotel. Outside seating overlooked the water gives a feel of Italy.

Wood fired pizzas, sandwichs, and salads.

Not overpriced either. A 14″ handmade wood fired pizza for $20? What more can you ask for?

False advertising on kids menus. The sign says the pizza is $8 but I was charged $14. When asked why it’s a different price I was shown a printed menu and told they can’t change the digital sign. It’s ridiculous. At what point did this pizza almost double in price and why are’t they honoring the posted price? They should be embarrassed.

Fries and fried mozzarella are good. The wedge salad was more olives than anything else (who has whole olives on a wedge?), the pizza was not great was told 30 minutes and it took an hour. The chicken parm was not edible, like tuff rubber.

Don’t order the BBQ chicken pizza. Out of 8 slices only 5 actually had chicken and it was maybe 1 piece per slice. What a waste of $30
We had pizzas and a whole salad on the table and my wife got up to order more and they came and took all the food off the table. Whole salad and pizza. In like 30 seconds. I won’t go back here ever.

Overall it was a good quick meal. I ordered the sals classic on wheat . It was good. They put all the veggies on the side due to the size of the bread which was actually preferable. The sandwich tasted good and the dressing was delicious. The chips it came with were definitely stale

Sal’s is a great place to eat, but I would like to thank Dennys, a cashier there, because he is absolutely fantastic! I asked him to take a look to my food because I had to look for my daughter and he not only did that but also he put a lid over the drinks we had and made the pizza stay warmed until I was back! Shout out to him!! Thank you Dennys!!
