We’re a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant open seven days a week rooted in an appreciation for superior ingredients, meticulous preparations, and cooking with heart. Pastas, pizzas, and beloved Italian dishes take center stage, as well as antipasti, salads, and a constantly-changing rotation of daily specials. Desserts center around classic Italian sweets, and our bar program offers an approachable array of wines, spirits, and beers, with a robust selection of by-the-glass offerings. Guests can choose to dine at the bar, in our first or second floor dining rooms, or on our heated and covered outdoor patio (open year round). The servers were great. Although the hostess brought out our appetizer, she was very carless. She placed the appetizer on top of menus and there wasn’t much communication from her to move anything. Additionally when we checked in the hostess began clacking her nails on the counter as I told her my name. As a restaurant that is trying to portray a fine dining Italian restaurant, this is not the first person I would put as the face of the restaurant.
Otherwise, the food was okay. Antipasto was great and the meats/cheeses were a great variety. The chicken parm was dry and the pasta did not really have much sauce on it. When we asked for Parmesan cheese, it came out in small portions and was not freshly grated which was very disappointing for an Italian restaurant. The drinks were good, go with the Italian margarita over the devil’s margarita; wine in a margarita is terrible. The risotto was delicious.

My family recently reserved the entire upstairs area of Salento Italia for our daughter Anna and son-in-law Joel’s rehearsal dinner, and the experience was truly five-star from start to finish.
The ambiance and atmosphere were excellent, creating the perfect setting for a celebration. The meal was incredible, starting with an amazing flow of appetizers: delicious olive tapenade bread, a crisp Caesar salad, and flavorful margherita pizza—they truly kept bringing out more!
For the main course, I enjoyed the Chicken Marsala served over a bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was absolutely phenomenal. Following that, a generous medley of desserts was served, but we were all so happily stuffed, it was nearly impossible to try them all!
While the food and setting were superb, the highlight of the evening was the impeccable service we received from our servers, Danielle and Jake. They tirelessly managed our large party of 35 people. Not only were they attentive and efficient, but they also engaged us in warm, genuine conversation. By the end of the evening, we truly felt as if we were parting with old friends.
Salento Italia is a marvelous restaurant, and we highly recommend it for both intimate dinners and large events. We will certainly be back in Nashville this December and are already looking forward to our return!

Super nice decor. Excellent staff. Food was AMAZING! We got the Margherita pizza to start. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and my Daughter got the spaghetti and roasted cauliflower. It was more than we could eat in one sitting so we had plenty for lunch the next day! Our Server Haleigh was Awesome!

Hidden gem! Loved our experience here. The ambiance was great. Diverse wine selections, authentic Italian dishes, and awesome service. Best octopus I’ve had in Nashville. The mushroom pasta dish was also DELISH. Also got the butterscotch custard for dessert — not usually a butterscotch fan but this was lovely. Our server, Madeline, was outstanding and provided a very warm space for us to enjoy our evening. Will most definitely be back!!

Sat at the bar and Jeremy took amazing care of us! Such a cozy vibe and food was amazing. Had the shrimp appetizer, gnocchi and short rib, and finished off with delicious olive oil cake. Cocktails were 10/10, great recommendations by Jermey as well!

Came here three times and honestly, I love this place! So elegantly crafted joint, the ambiance is pretty awesome, super romantic with two levels to accommodate any group size.
First time I came in, ordered an Old Fashion (The team at the bar make some pretty awesome drinks) and went straight to dinner ordering the Broccolini pasta light on the sauce with grilled chicken on top! Salento Italia should name this the “The Valdi” dish! Flavors were all amazing with the perfect portion, I went with the small and stuffed my face lol. Look how beautiful the plate looks. Can’t imagine the bigger portion. For desert, I had the Budino. Another great creation by this wonderful place.
Second time I came in ordered the Bianca pizza and I think people my like these flavors. I will try a different one to compare. I will be straight, not my cup of tea in contrast to other Biancas I have had elsewhere.
For dinner, I ordered the Gnocchi & Short Rib. Food was good but my expectation of this dish was far and beyond to what I thought it was. It was shredded which caught me by surprise. You think of “short rib” and expect something else is my point. I would definitely rename this dish, in my opinion or put those small fine print at the bottom lol.
Many years ago, was told by a Sicilian, you don’t go to Italian restaurants to eat steak, rib, etc.
Third time I came in, for Expresso Martinis. Another great drink from the awesome team at the bar!
Aside from that, it’s a wonderful place you will enjoy a great meal. Adam, thank you for being so kind.
