Went for the first time today and I absolutely Loved. Such a wide Range of salad toppings I only wish they had grilled chicken. I will definitely be returning when I’m in the area. I wish we had salad bars in more places because I’ve never seen a salad bar that’s not at a pizza place. I also will have to try more food items off the menu!

I love this place but today when I went to pay the male at the cashier had terrible customer service. I paid AND left a tip and I noticed he had not bagged my self serve to go salad and nicely asked if I can get a bag for my items and he rudely said “ i literally had just asked if you needed one and you said no” i told him oh sorry I didn’t hear you and he said “ oh well they are 10 cents”. I love this place but he needs to fix his attitude. Don’t like that job? Maybe find another one.

I had the worst experience few days ago I am a regular customer and as I approached to the salad bar to serve myself there was so many fruit flies and there was two workers absolutely doing nothing about it until i said something and only replaced the beets and left the baby corn cobs there with so many fruit flies worst experience ever!!!!

Today was my first time visiting the Salad Shoppe and all I can say is this place is awesome and delicious . I ordered the take out salad bar and it is so clean and nice in there. The veggies and salad is so fresh and crispy. The cashiers are also very kind and helpful. I will definitely be stopping by again when I’m in town. I give this place two thumbs up .

I went to Salad Shoppe for the first time and immediately felt out of place. I was the only person of color there and I think the owner came up to me without smiling or greeting, just asking if I needed help. I told him I wanted clam chowder and he said it’s only served on Fridays. When I asked what soups they had, he suggested chile verde.
That made no sense to me. If I wanted chile verde I’d go to a place that specializes in it, not Salad Shoppe. There were other options like chicken rice soup and chili beans, so I don’t know why he jumped straight to chile verde. It felt like that suggestion was based on me being brown and it rubbed me the wrong way.
I ordered chili beans, salad, bread, and lemonade. The chili had no meat, which wasn’t mentioned, and for over 17 dollars the portions and quality didn’t feel worth it.
The cup situation was confusing. Regular cups are by the fountain drinks but to-go cups are near the register at the exit. I accidentally grabbed the wrong one and tried to return it but the cashier told me to just take both and handle it myself, no offer to help or care. I still tipped and she barely acknowledged it.
While checking out someone told me “good job,” which felt awkward and condescending. The whole experience felt forced and fake.
I felt watched and unwelcome the entire time and the food was disappointing. I won’t be back.

This place was fantastic. The salad bar was clean, fully stocked and had a great variety. The staff was very welcoming and provided great service. We visit Salinas multiple times a year, we will be back.
