I ordered the East Village Inferno, a pizza that’s supposed to have a “tomato-cream-vodka sauce” that I neither saw nor really tasted at all. The pizza crust was cheap, bland, and not charred at all. And to top it all off, this pizza is supposed to come “garnished with fresh basil” and yet there was no basil whatsoever on the entire pizza, not even a speck of green to be seen. I was very disappointed with this place especially since it claims to have NY pizza and I have lived in NYC all my life. I would 100% recommend you look at the pizza before you leave because it seems they don’t care about take-out orders. To think this pizza cost me $28 with tax, kind of crazy that in NYC I would get something top notch for that price.

I’ve been here a few times this month and the service has not been great. The times I’ve went the servers are not attentive at all, no matter how many people are in the restaurant. They come to take our order and to take the check, we have to flag people down for anything else. They also do not ask follow up questions on menu items that have multiple choices. (Soup/salad for lunch, side items, pasta sauces…) Instead of coming back and asking a follow up question they enter in whatever they want and I’ve been charged multiple times for them making mistakes. Today was really weird, our server came up for our order, to check in once, and to take the check. She got someone else to drop off drinks, check in, drop off the check and drop off the check when we paid. Everyone who helped us was super nice but I’m not sure why she couldn’t have given our table to someone else if she was too busy or too nervous to serve us. I’m not sure what I was supposed to be tipping for. I’m a server myself and she didn’t drop off or refill drinks, didn’t check in, drop off food, buss tables, or any other server duties. It wasn’t just her that have been inattentive, the other times I’ve come in I’ve experienced the same issues. I’m not sure if there’s a staffing issue or if there are a lot of new servers, but it’s polite to inform customers if there are any potential issues with services. Other than that, the hosts, people serving ice cream, managers, bussers and food runners are all super nice and helpful.

Me & husband both got burgers. YES BURGERS at a pizza place; LISTEN TO ME- this is quality beef! Def not frozen, juicy, very GOOD!
Sweet potatoe fries- GOOD! not soggy delish!
Ordered the sundae with Oreos- can’t recall name but GOOD!
Will definitely order again and look forward to dining in again! ENJOY!

Ordered the Liberty burger and asked for no red onion and to add bacon. Burger arrived with one slice of bacon and no cheese. I politely asked for a slice of cheese to which the nice wait person responded “it won’t be melted”. I said that’s ok, no problem and was given a plate of shredded cheese. I’m disappointed to say the least. We aren’t jerks and left a nice tip but quality control was absolutely absent today. Won’t be back.

Great atmosphere and food is decent. However, customer service sucks!!! Not like the Sal and Mookie I visited in the past. I visited Jackson and we stayed nearby so thought we’d give it a try. Went for dinner, host catered to certain patrons and ignored others. Found it insane because the people they ignored look like them. Moving forward, because of pass experience was positive, thought I try and give it another shot. Same game different day. They had the nerve to try and serve me ice cream that they made for someone else. When I objected, her defense was they were out. She did bother to tell me this before I paid. I immediately asked for a refund and bounced!! We’re done!!! Too many competitive restaurants to accept poor customer service. Sal and Mookie has a lot of BA employees but they cater to YT patrons. %.

Their gluten free pizzas were delicious! The crust was very much like a traditional New York style, unlike most GF crusts that are thin and tasteless. The marinara sauce was perfectly seasoned and the toppings were generous. Service was fast and courteous and the only reason we didn’t give five stars for Service was they served one of our drinks with an obviously visible foreign object in the cup.

A friend of mine is aware that I am currently trying to work my way through museums and points of interest in this area and suggested I try this pizza place. Let me tell you, I am sold. I got the half Gambino, half Brighton, but the kitchen made a mistake and I got a whole one of each. They even taste good reheated! The fruity pebbles milkshake was amazing. My server was Anna P, and she was just a delight. She needs a raise. She gave me some recommendations for things to do in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area!
