Food was pretty good. One of the better Mexican food choices in San Antonio. Just need a little more flavor, not bad but just not “we gotta hurry & go again”. But we will definitely go again. Our waitress was awesome & she recommended us food which we ordered. Prices are decent.

This was some of the best Mexican I’ve had since El Paso. Got the Jalisco special burrito with Carne Asada and it was all just so good. The meat was super flavorful and well cooked, refried beans were awesome, their green sauce was really good, and the waitress was very nice. The horchata was bomb too.

Ok so I don’t know who was working morning shift on 09/30/25 because I always enjoy the food and more so their Chicken Tortilla soup. Its always on point and so delicious. But on this day my soup was not so great. It was loaded with Tortilla chips which usually comes on the side. I had two pieces of carrots and very little chicken. What’s going on over there guys?

La Parrilla #1 is my go-to spot in San Antonio for an affordable, satisfying meal with generous portions and quick service. I’m not sure how many locations they have, but this one is close to my house and has become a regular stop for me. I always enjoy a cold horchata while I’m eating, never to-go, and it pairs perfectly with the food. Tuesdays are my favorite day to come by for the street taco plate, which is always loaded with flavor and a great value. La Parrilla #1 just gets it right every time.

What a shame. The food was terrible. The refried beans were dried out clump on the plate. The worst part is that when I was paying they asked if the food was okay. I said, I guess it was okay. She said great! Wasn’t even listening. We will never eat there again.

Always can count on a good meal here. My #17 Soft chicken taco plate was very good and the guac was perfect(wish they brought tostada chips with the meal). I was pleasantly surprised that although the restaurant was full on a Sun at noon, it wasn’t too noisy and the service was quick and very friendly.

Went for my mom’s birthday dinner this evening with the wife, and everything from the greeting coming through the door to the food and beverages was absolutely amazing! We usually go to a different taqueria on Tezel but wanted to try this place because they serve alcohol and it did not disappoint – highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the area.

Broooo the #4 steak enchiladas are INSANE
That steak is juicy, seasoned to perfection, sauce smacks hard, cheese melted just right. Every bite had me stopping like “nahhh this is stupid good.” Straight flavor bomb. No notes. Ordering this every time. Also the price is insane affordable, I tried another place and ordered a steak had NO FLAVOR AT ALL

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I was visiting from Pennsylvania and my cousin had raved about this place—but it was a huge letdown. I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas, which were supposed to come with peppers, onions, rice, and beans. What I got was dry chicken, four shrimp, and a pile of green peppers. That’s it. The chicken was as dry as the San Antonio heat.
Our server never came back to check on us—not once. I had to go to the counter myself to ask for the missing items. They handed me a sad plate of soggy onions and cold rice. My cousin even had to get her own water and ask for a to-go box for our aunt.

Outta Sight
Nasty barbacoa. They had small and big roaches inside. No one wears a hairnet or any gloves at any point of time of the year. Very dirty place, used to be better than this..it went downhill quick. Las palapas next door tortillas are undercooked so choose wisely.
