Ok. So i used to go to Diamond Sushi before it was bought and changed into Sakura Izakaya… we did use to love it and all the staff, so we weren’t sure what to expect when it changed owners. Last night the whole family went out for some ayce sushi to this restaurant, and honesty it was a 10/10 in every single aspect. Let’s start with our server. She was friendly, polite, attentive and very fast….now, the food…EVERY dish was amazing. The salmon sashimi was all beautiful ans all the rolls were delicious…I think I probably had the most delicious spicy salmon hand roll I’ve ever had. We got a LOT of hot dishes and they were all bangers! My husband said the egg rolls were the best ones he’s ever had…also, their have sui mai (which I can never find up north), and it was SO amazing…it tastes like authentic dim sum quality. We ordered another order of them at the end even though we were super full lol. The price was pretty much in line with why you’d expect to pay for all you can eat. It was approximately $200 for a family of 5 for a Saturday night dinner. Overall, absolutely loved our experience. This officially our go-to ayce sushi spot in Barrie

This is the most delicious beef short ribs I’ve ever had in Barrie. The chicken chow mein tastes amazing, with a well-balanced flavor and incredibly tender chicken. The portion of chow mein is also very generous. I will definitely consider coming here often.

Used to come here for years when it was diamond, basically the exact same menu and interior, but the food has definitely dropped in quality. They changed certain items to be less of what they are, salmon flowers used to be 2 pieces of salmon sashimi with a little bit of rice in the middle and Kewpie mayo, they are now one piece of salmon with alot of rice, and one tiny little bit of Kewpie mayo, the chicken skewers I ordered were slimey and absoltuely gross, tasted way off and just not cooked well whatsoever, beef and green onion is bigger but stuffed with so much green onion it takes forever to chew and does not taste very good, the quality of the beef definitely is different. Overall I wount return, and would not recommend to anyone.

Foods good quality meat was kinda dry but same old ayce. Staff need some work as far as hospitality goes. Very difficult to order and everything just felt like an uphill battle. I’m here for a 40$ lunch I expect better. When you make customers pay for in eaten portions you should make sure those portions are cooked properly. I miss diamond

The food is fresh and delicious, the service is truly exceptional, and the atmosphere is clean, warm, and welcoming. Picked up sushi for the second time here and it was amazing. The miso soup, mango shrimp roll, and dynamite roll were the highlights of our meal. We will definitely be ordering again!
