This place really left a mixed impression – the food tasted great, and although we were a bigger group, we didnt have to wait extra long. Another benefit is the location – very close to the city centre.
However, what was a little underwhelming was the service. We had to write our order on a paper (which in an of itself would not be a problem), but then when they were bringing the food it was chaotic, because they didnt know who ordered what. While bringing the food, one of the servers accidentally spilled a sauce on my friend’s phone – but no apology. When a server was taking away our plates, she started moving all remaining food on one tray in the middle of our table (which again, I know its hard to carry all of it, but dont do it in front of the guests ) at the end, they also forgot to bring a dessert to the menus and we had to go ask for it.
Overall I believe it’s a good restaurant, however the service is really not the best, and with simple improvements it could get much better!! 🙂

Went here with a friend and the experience was a bit mixed, i had sushi and that was suuuuper nice, she had the vegetarian noodles and they were really lacking in flavour.
The service was a bit non existing, i think due to a language barrier. We had to write down our own order and bringing the drinks also took a bit
Overall i would say, i would go here again for sushi, but unfortunatly not for other food

Literally the best Chinese beef noodles that I have ever tasted in Germany. The food is super authentic and reminds me of the real non-westernised Chinese food in my hometown. I strongly recommend the beef tomato noodles in this restaurant, although my friend is more a big of beef noodles without tomato.

Wonderful Japanese cuisine! Beautifully served meals that made us all clear our plates!!! Tons of sushi, vegan, soup and sides options. Highly recommend if you’re in Heidelberg and want some Japanese food.

The Lunch I just had at Sakura was AMAZING!! I was here for lunch so, as a student, I found it to be quite affordable. I ordered one of their menus. It was Delicious. It was Number 40 on the menu I think. It started of with a Miso Soup. The Soup was Great and I was pleasantly surprised that it had tuna in it. It was served with a small cup of green tea. Afterwards came the sushi plate. The sushi was elegantly made by the chef. The fish didn’t have that fish taste so it meant that it was really fresh. I loved my experience there.

Been there frequently. Very huge menu, and I haven’t had anything I didn’t like yet. The prices are fair, the food high quality. The atmosphere is very stereotypical, but not in a bad way. The service is fast, really nice and helpful, although your order will come out in a very random fashion. If you order something after the initial order on the paper they provide for writing down your choices, they likely forget about it. But if you are aware of these two quirks you will have a great evening and a well stuffed belly. Reservation in advance is recommended if you want to go during their rush hour or on busy days.
