I’ve been to Sakura twice, both on Friday nights and had a great experience both times! We love to sit at the sushi bar by the train. The sushi is amazing, it’s fun to see it made and added to the train. This Friday, I had the most delicious bite of fresh seared tuna I have ever had. Every bite was delicious. The service is excellent, and so welcoming. There is a menu but I haven’t ordered off of it because choosing off the train is so much fun and everything is so good. The pics I posted were from both trips. I love love love this place and will be definitely be back soon!

First time trying out the Sushi Train here in Olathe. You can also choose the option to order off the menu. We went ahead did the train and prices depends on the color plates. The sushi was good just wish they had a lot more sushi options. Train was cute. When we showed up more people start to flow in and we were just battling to get the sushi first before they replenish it. Service was great even though I did spill my water they handled it very well. Price was actually affordable. We had many plates and spent almost $45.

We are on a cross country road trip and decided that it would be fun to go to a sushi place that serves the sushi on a conveyer belt, so we went out of our way just to eat at this restaurant.
It was really a fun experience even though I didn’t read the restaurant description thoroughly since we really wanted an all you can eat sushi option.
That was okay, but between my husband and I we finished off 16 plates of sushi! Most of the plates had only two pieces on each plate.
The sushi was made right in front of us and was very fresh and very good. It was fun to watch the sushi being made and cut and presented.
The staff at this restaurant was so courteous and nice too.
By the time we left, the restaurant was very crowded with happy sushi eaters.
Anyway, I’m glad we went to Sakura Japanese Sushi Train!

My kids loved going here. They loved 50%of the sushi they grabbed, but they really enjoyed the sushi train! I feel like it was a win/win they can watch the train while mommy and daddy eat sushi. The staff was friendly and attentive. The cost of the sushi depends on the plate that you grab. There were some really great rolls that we tried. Our dinner was cut short by our 3 year old, but We will definitely be back!

Fun, clever, novel, and quiet sushi experience. The sushi is made fresh every few minutes, and put on a model train moving slowly around the sushi bar, which is quite large.
There was no menu, which we would have preferred. Perhaps on request, but we didn’t bother. Just walk in, sit down, and start picking small plates/saucers off the train that look good. Prices are listed near the track, by color of plate, and you can correctly assume the numerous yellow plates cost less than the rarer purple plates with different pieces in them besides a standard sushi roll. It does get a little pricey if your appetite is big.
All pieces of sushi and sashimi were delicious. Well cut, well presented.
Staff are really nice and attentive. It’s family friendly and date friendly. You get to sit next to each other instead of across. We will definitely continue coming.

Great ambience, good service and great food! Love that you only get two pieces per plate so you have the option to try a wide variety of items. It’s also fun that the sushi comes around on a train and you can watch them make it!

Absolutely loved watching the sushi being prepared. The two gentlemen are awesome. The prices are high for the sushi you get. The good sushi (purple plate) is 2 pieces for $4.50. The calamari was delicious and worth the $4.50. The imitation crab and other California roll type sushi is 2-3 pieces for$3.50. it’s ok sushi but the price is too high.

Fun experience. My dad is difficult to please but he enjoyed himself. The staff was attentive and we came just in time for the sushi train to start running. There was only one sushi we didn’t enjoy (tasted like tuna salad).

What a fun experience! Several different types of sushi to choose from and the Sushi chefs are continuously making more rolls, plating them, and putting them on the train to circle around the bar in front of diners. You just grab what you want! You are charged per plate and the waitress actually counts your plates when you are finished eating. There were 3 colors of plates; blue was 3$, yellow 3.25$, purple 3.50$. Each plate has 2 pieces of sushi. The chef will also make a requested roll if you have a favorite. All of the rolls we tried were delicious! The only challenge was knowing what type of sushi I was selecting from the train. The lids covering the sushi are clear but cloudy which does make it a little difficult to determine what you are grabbing. We will visit again because it is a fun concept and because the sushi was yummy!

The sushi was really good and it was a pretty good variety. When there are a lot of people around the bar the train empties really fast and it seemed like the guys preparing it couldn’t keep up. Very reasonably priced
