We went for lunch yesterday on a whim, having never been here before but we were looking for a filling and quality lunch, and we were very pleasantly surprised! We will absolutely be coming back.
No wait time, we were seated and served quickly and by friendly staff. Our orders arrived in a good timeframe, faster than expected, and everything was hot and fresh and most importantly, delicious. There was really nothing I could or can find that I would have changed about the food! Sauces and flavors were lovely, perfect textures and temperatures, and very enjoyable. Prices and portions were well adjusted (happily surprised that our appetizers consisted of more food than I expected based on usual restaurant appetizer portions!) and certainly justifiable considering the quality of food and service. We took home food (there was a good bit left and we were stuffed, which to me is a great sign!) and left extremely satisfied. The restaurant itself wasn’t too loud or busy when we arrived around noon, and it’s a comfortable, clean environment, a bit more upscale than I had been originally looking for, but not at all a bad thing! Thank you, it was a lovely experience and meal.

I walked into this place expecting a decent meal. I walked out questioning whether I should nominate the staff for some kind of hospitality award and the kitchen for a Nobel Prize in Flavor Science.
Let’s start with the food. The orange ginger wings? Unreal. Whoever came up with that recipe deserves a raise, a parade, and possibly joint custody of my taste buds. Perfectly crispy, sweet with a kick, and so good I briefly considered ordering a second plate “for the table,” even though the table was just me.
Then came the buffalo chicken sandwich, which I’m convinced was engineered in a lab to ruin all other buffalo chicken sandwiches for me. Juicy, spicy, messy in the best possible way — the kind of sandwich that makes you sit back afterward and reevaluate your life choices, mostly wondering why you haven’t been eating this every week.
But the real MVPs? The people running the show.
The manager Evan checked in like a friendly neighborhood superhero — present, helpful, and somehow everywhere at once without ever hovering – all while dealing with a small issue involving a broken dish in the dining room. And my waitress Candice was an absolute pro: funny, attentive, and so on top of things that I swear she refilled my drink before I even realized it was empty. If she ever decides to run for office, she’s got my vote.
Between the killer food and the A‑tier service, this place is officially on my “drag friends here so they understand” list. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed ourselves at the bar for dinner. Homemade soups were delicious Portuguese Clam Chowder and original Clam Chowder was perfect. Scampi fresh and delicious and the prime rib was one of the best ever had. Specialty martinis were good. Wil be back

Absolutely the BEST! Superior service and fantastic food. I cannot say enough about the outstanding experience Livvy created for us on a busy Friday evening. Despite the full house, she remained warm, personable, and attentive to every detail. Her professionalism and genuine friendliness made us feel truly cared for from start to finish—she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect.
And the food? As always, fabulous. The Sakonnet Scampi and Fish & Chips were beyond compare—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

I honestly wanted to really like this restaurant. It is very cute and had good ratings. The pear martini was all vodka with not even a hint of pear. The watermelon margarita had an artificial flavor. I ordered the chicken marsala based on server recommendation and was sadly disappointed. It had absolutely no marmalade wine flavor and just had a bland brown gravy. The other 3 in the party all said their meal was “ok” and none of us finished our meal. The server was very sweet and attentive and the restaurant was cute. The only negative was the food which is why you go out to eat.

Sakonnet River Grille is a lovely surprise in Tiverton – a warm inviting atmosphere awaits Diners , with Friendly staff, and truly yummy, hearty food. The Seafood Sampler with Shrimp, Lobster and Scallops was delicious, and the Mozambique Shrimp was classically done with great Mozambique flavor. The staff was outgoing and friendly . sakonnet River offers great value for their menu offerings. It is very easy to Find, right on Main St. In Riverton !

We were celebrating our granddaughter graduation from high school we had a private room which was nice, the table could have been together to make us feel like we were all sitting together but other than that it was good. The waitress could have used a little more help.
