Sakemico is one of the best Japanese dining experiences in Lisbon. Located at Travessa de S. Plácido 52A, the atmosphere is welcoming, modern, and relaxed.
What truly sets Sakemico apart is the quality and variety of its sushi. Unlike many sushi restaurants in Lisbon that mainly offer tuna and salmon, Sakemico has a much wider selection of fresh, high-grade fish. The hamachi was incredibly fresh and silky, and the uni was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious—a real standout.
The sake flights are excellent and thoughtfully curated, making it easy to explore different styles and flavor profiles. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and happy to make great recommendations.
An added bonus is that Sakemico is small-dog friendly, which is rare and much appreciated. If you’re searching for top-quality sushi in Lisbon, authentic Japanese cuisine, or a great place for sushi and sake near Cais do Sodré, this is a must-visit.

INCREDIBLY good food! I was actually astonished that such good Japanese food can be found in Lisbon after being so let down by so many other Japanese places here. The dishes were fresh, balanced, full of amazing, authentic flavours. Really skillfully prepared with care and attention to the food. Presentation was also fantastic. Absolutely the best scallops and the best soba I have had in all of Europe so far. I truly couldn’t believe it.
The server was attentive with exceptional knowledge and experience with both the food and the sake. He knew exactly what sake we were looking for! Very friendly on top of it all, which was amazing cos he was super busy. Definitely make a reservation! This place is hopping and for a very good reason.

Fabulous place. Waitstaff was VERY knowledgeable about sake and helped us through the extensive selection. Food was fabulous and a great presentation. We’ve been looking for goid sushi and a place to try different sakes and we hit a goldmine!

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Lisbon. I’ve lived in Asia for a long time, and this was one of the more authentic experiences I’ve had here. The ingredients are super fresh and clearly very carefully selected. I also love the variety of dishes and ingredients, way beyond what you usually find here.
The team was very well informed, attentive, and kind! We didn’t drink alcohol this time, but their sake selection looked excellent.

We have been there the second time. I’m a bit disappointed with the menu changes. Now 80% are raw fish dishes, but I came for the Japanese tavern cooking style. And personally I think the 刺身盛り合わせ(7 pair for 38€) is a bit over priced.
Fortunately the overall performance of the dishes is still on point.

But the portions are not big, which is typical for Japanese dishes, and we were experimenting this restaurant for the first time, so we ordered a bit of everything.
A good choice if you’re looking for a dog friendly night out with Japanese cuisine other than sushi.

Authentic Japanese izakaya. Takoyaki was frozen but i enjoyed it. Tartan noodles was ok, salmon Ikura don was TOP!! Tukemono, miso soup, hiyayakko are missing taste. Salmon avocado hand rolls, tuna hand rolls are good but difficult to eat. Service was great. Everyone was polite. I felt Japan. Next time I will try another menu.

I’m Japanese, and Sakemico is, hands down, the best “authentic” Japanese restaurant in Lisbon!!
My family and I have been living in Lisbon for 3.5 years, and finding good Japanese restaurants has always been a struggle and a disappointment.
But at Sakemico, everything was prepared meticulously with the right ingredients and cooking method. When I took the first bite, I couldn’t hide my excitement as I finally found something that truly represented the Japanese cuisine here in Lisbon. Every bite after that until the very last grain of rice in my bowl was filled with joy.
To maximize our dining experience, the restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive.
If you know Japanese cuisine is not just ramen and sushi and have appreciation for amazing Japanese food, I highly recommend Sakemico.
We’ll be going back there again very soon!

Great food for fair price. Quirky fun interior, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, our order took half an hour to arrive during lunch time, and the restaurant wasn’t even full. Maybe just a glitch. Despite the long wait, definitely worth visiting.

We had some trouble with ordering. A few of our dishes were forgotten (twice) and we spent 2 hours there waiting. We asked a few times and never got a good explanation. I’m sure it was a one-off situation.
