You must visit Sake Nomi if you like sake or are simply curious. We started with their flights and were impressed with their diverse offerings and unique tastes. Loved their clean junmai and nigori with subtle sweetness. I am no sake expert, but Sake Nomi taught me that drinking sake alone can be a pleasant experience. The bartender (I think he’s the owner) was welcoming, and the ambience is casual. Sake Nomi is another reason to visit downtown and pioneer square. I’ll be back.

We love this place. Specialty sake and flights for those who are curious but not sure what to try. Every single sake we’ve had here has been delicious. We’re so happy to return here time and time again

If you are looking for a fun date idea, or are a Sale enthusiast, come check out this place!

We came here for a Sake Tasting event for our date night and we absolutely loved it. We sampled 9 different sakes and learned about our preferences. They taught us what kind of Sake to order based on our preferences. The service was fantastic as well.

I highly recommend this place.

Their new location is bigger, brighter, and I’m definitely coming back with friends! Went in late on a Tuesday – it was my birthday. We got both tastings, were impressed with both. Ended up going home with three bottles. All delicious!

I lived in Japan for three years, so I had the good fortune to imbibe a lot of premium sake (and a lot of cheap sake as well, TBH, haha). When my friends expressed curiosity about trying some quality sake, I knew I couldn’t expect to find a good brand in the grocery store (average sake tastes astringent to me). Enter Sake Nomi. I pinged them on Facebook and they confirmed that they carried Kenbishi Kuromatsu, which I had at Wataru’s and have been wanting again ever since. KK is a premium sake that tastes good warm or hot, whereas most premium sake is usually chilled.

I ended up buying Bride of the Fox as well — my friends liked this one a lot (we collectively killed the bottle); it has a stronger presence than Kenbishi Kuromatsu, which is pleasantly mellow and smooth. They both go down like water; you have been warned.

Johnnie assisted me in the store as I browsed. Very friendly, unpretentious. Don’t worry if you don’t know a lot about sake (I honestly don’t myself!). Sake Nomi only stocks the good stuff and they can help you find something you’ll enjoy.

Had a lovely experience. The owner is super chill and helpful. There is a small tasting area with some table and bar seating. There is also a shop in the back with lots of awesome options to choose from if you want to take a bottle home.

Sake Nomi is THE place to go for only sake in Seattle. Recommend doing the sake tastings (there are always new tastings to try). The owner is very knowledgeable about sake and willing to answer questions!

This is my new favorite bar – anywhere. Intimate and casual. Someone new to sake or a sake-nerd would all feel welcome here. The owner Johnnie and his clientele were interesting conversation – from Japanese aesthetics to film trivia. We sampled both sake flights and each one was full of delightful flavor. We will be back!
