Sake Cafe – Magazine Street

Alicia Sherman delivered truly exceptional service today at Sake Cafe on Magazine Street. From the moment I sat down, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made the entire experience feel seamless and elevated without ever being intrusive.

It’s rare to encounter service that feels both professional and genuinely welcoming, but Alicia nailed it. She is a standout and a true asset to the Sake Cafe team. Experiences like this are exactly why I keep coming back.

Highly recommend—ask for Alicia if you can.

I like the bartender Hudson. The California rolls are delicious. The happy hour prices are great. The problem is the internet says happy hour is 3-6 and it really is only 3-5:30. So annoying to get there and be told it is over…

First time dining at a Sake Cafe and had a fairly good experience! I really liked the complimentary parking which allowed 6 hours!! I thought it would be 2-3 hours max, but when it said 6, I was impressed. Service was great especially since my party and I ordered a lot. The waitress was accommodating and allowed us to use two other tables nearby for our dishes and to-go containers. Everything we ordered was good especially the calamari and sashimi. Only thing disappointing was their happy hour menu. I felt like it was very limited and barely had anything to offer compared to other sushi restaurants. Overall, it was still a great place to dine in. Even the ambience and anesthetics were nice! I would most likely return and recommend this location to others!

My friend and I came tonight and this is what we found in the bottom of our wine glasses….. And yes, both were in the inside. The first two pics are mine and the 3rd is her glass.

The Tiger roll, edamame and calamari were delicious. Don’t recommend the fried rice. It had raw red onion that just didn’t really fit well. Server was really nice but the ambiance was a little awkward with no music. Perfect if you like a quiet restaurant though!

Great food, superb quality. Lovely drinks, and fab staff. The only thing is the speed of delivery of food, they have to work on this – the flow is off, waited for the last of three cocktails which were ordered at the same time for about 15 minutes longer than the other other two.
Management also seemed to be in a really crappy mood and somehow managed to make several staff members cry in the hour or two we were there. This is an absolute no go. Management by fear is not the way to encourage your staff to work harder and run faster.

Swanky Japanese restaurant/sushi bar on Mag st. I wanted some good sushi and they didn’t disappoint. This place is large, two stories so they can accommodate big parties. The interior wasn’t just normal sushi bar aesthetic and stood out in a mostly good way. The cooler case full of dragon blade knives and kunai was an interesting accent point though. I specifically came for mackerel. It happened to be HH, which I appreciated them having saba on special. Ordered a special roll as well, and while it was good, it was all about the mackerel. My only complaint was the service was kind of slow, given how empty it was at the time. I’d come back for more Mackerel and to try some of their other options.

Very popular modern style sushi & sake bar on Magazine. Happy hour menu with a handful of sushi items and cocktail specials. Good staff, friendly place, especially Ty, a consummate creative. It must be nationally renowned as there are a lot of celebrity-signed portraits.

We had the tuna and avocado appetizer and the hot appetizer sampler followed by the tropical roll and the jazz roll. We loved every morsel. I could tell that they were short staffed because the manager ended up being very hands on. Nonetheless the service was impeccable. The wine list was diverse. I will return.

unsure if outdoor seating was available because we went on a rainy day so the tables i did notice outside were obviously empty. stopped in for a quick bite since we both agreed on sushi. this is probably our 4th time coming here and it’s been consistent in the food / service & drink department every time. variety of dishes that cater to ppl of all diets. our servers have been very welcoming & professional and delivers in a timely manner. the ambience is very authentic to Japanese heritage which is very much appreciated.
