I want to give this a five star rating. The wait was a little too long and the food was pretty good but nothing like I had in Japan.

Sadly, no Japanese people work there to practice my Japanese. Lol. The staff were all really nice and the chef was pretty entertaining. Have had better ones but he was good. Kids loved it.

The price was just a tad high for the quality I felt but a good experience if you have never done it before.

Sakana Japanese Sushi & Steak House in Meridian is absolutely fantastic! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi rolls are top-notch, and the steak and hibachi dishes are cooked perfectly every time.
The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, making it a great spot for date night, family dinners, or celebrating with friends. The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes sure everything is just right from start to finish.
If you’re looking for high-quality Japanese food in Meridian, Sakana is a must-visit. Highly recommend, easy five stars!

First time dinning here. I was a little skeptical because of the size of the restaurant, but I was quickly proven wrong on my first bite of sushi. I had 4 different rolls.

– Hana
– Shrimp Tempura
– Snow Mountain
– Tokyo

They’re all good in their own right, however the “Tokyo Roll” is the best roll I’ve had in a long time.

Got some fried cheesecake at the end. Overall very satisfied and will be coming again. Thank you very much.

We came because Google and their website made it look like they have hibachi during the day, but was told when we got there it starts at 4. Disappointed, but undeterred, we stayed for sushi. Turns out we were very pleased. We had the sushi bridge and a sushi for one meal for three people and it was more than we could eat. We found the quality quite good as well.

We finally got here after driving by it many times, but never at the ‘right time’. We reserved a table and we’re thankful we did. It was very busy at 6;30 pm so be advised. The service was efficient and friendly. They have an extensive menu! We ordered several rolls and they were very good – one especially was spicy and very good. We then had some traditional dishes and they were excellent. I would recommend this place, especially for the specialty rooms and steak tables in back.

The waiting staff were some of the most professional and nice I’ve ever had. Having the chef cook our door in front of us was such an amazing experience for our two younger kids. Their food was delicious and our show was almost just as good! I was lucky enough to try a little of their fried cheesecake and fried ice cream (mom tax ) and they were oh so good too
Great option for a birthday dinner!

Great place to go with the family on Friday night. We had immediate seating as a table of five(5) with no wait. There is a lot of room in this restaurant & a good amount of parking available as well. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were light and crispy. The sopa noodles w/ shrimp dish was filling & flavorful. The sushi & sashimi selection had a lot of variety, which was also awesome & the miso soup was tasty, too! We all had a terrific experience. You will probably be looking at about $15 to $50 per person depending on the foods & drinks selected. I don’t know why, but the tip was automatically put onto our bill @ what looked like %20+. I didn’t try to figure this part out because it fell in line with what I was thinking to tip anyway. But, this could be something to check before you get your final receipt where you go to sign and add a tip amount (again) if you didn’t catch it the 1st time for some reason. Hahaha… nice one, Senpai!

The food was okay, if nothing special. Service was good, mostly because both times I went it was slow and they had the time. Atmosphere was fine. While paying, I couldn’t leave a tip due to using a company card and they told me if I dont tip I wont get served. So that was pretty uncool.

Really wasn’t that great of an experience. We got the Boise Sakara roll, spider tempura roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a Childs steak dinner. The steak was cooked perfectly but the sushi is where everything lacked. We asked for the spiciest they could make it and wasn’t even spicy. The Shirley temple we ordered tasted like dirty water. The rolls were nicely made but lacked flavor even thought they had “eel sauce” on it, which I barely tasted. Just wasn’t a great experience in my opinion.
