This place was amazing. This was my second time coming in and once again it was delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and Chef David came out to greet us and check on or sushi. You can tell he really cares about his food. I ordered the David’s Special roll and I can promise that’s something I’ll get every single time. My boyfriend got the Cancun roll which was also delicious. We also grabbed some of the sushi boat sushi, the crazy crab roll, the dynamite roll, and the alaska roll. Everything tasted fresh. We also each got Ramen, he got the curry and I got the Miso. My Miso broth was a lot more flavorfull then what I’m used to in the best way! Locals, do yourself a favor and venture out to Seabreeze for this place.

Sakana Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Daytona Beach. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming.
The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented (highly recommend the David’s Special Roll!). The portions are generous, and you can really tell they use high quality ingredients. Everything I ate was DELICIOUS!
The atmosphere is lively without being too loud, perfect for both date nights and family dinners. Everything—from the food to the service—was outstanding. If you’re in Daytona Beach and craving great sushi or a fun hibachi experience, Sakana is a must-visit!

The service was good. Waitress was attentive and provided refills in a timely manner. We had three sushi rolls (dynamite, rainbow, and Hawaii). Dynamite roll was overcooked and found a spine one of the rolls. The cooked salmon on the dynamite roll was brown and didn’t taste fresh. The end of the dynamite roll did not have any edible items, just the outer crunch layer. The rainbow roll was also had spine and did no have great white tail fish.

Amazing!!! Our group came in for a birthday and we all had an excellent time. We first sat at the sushi bar with little boats of sushi going by you can pick off of. David the sushi chef was great. He checked on us and made sure everyone found the sushi we wanted. After sushi, we moved to the hibachi grill.
Tei the chef at the grill was also great and very entertaining. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly. Our server was on top of everything at all times as well. We will definitely be back!!!

The food was alright. I love the idea of the sushi boats. So cute! But our sushi tasted a little old and it surprised me that almost every sushi option in the boats had onions in them? I’ve never had onion in a sushi roll so I was surprised by this.
Also, we ordered some curry. It was kind of bland to me but my husband loved it. I guess to each their own. I liked this place just don’t know if I’ll ever come back to it when we visit Daytona again.

Burnt my food until no good, didn’t give refills in a timely manner and tried to charge me $23 for gratuity, the cops was called but said I was free to go bc I paid my bill/taxes on the food/drinks but they couldn’t force me to pay gratuity. Theses people had no personality either they took pictures of my car, me,my husband/ kids and even videoed us while waiting for the cops LOL LOL. Choose a dining place wisely but not this one

Great place for sushi, the floating boats are an awesome add to fun to spend with a date or family. Dining area is clean and staff is pleasant. The sushi chef is excellent and fast with your orders or specials.

09212018-I’m updating my previous post (below). I just came from Sakana; David the sushi chef is creating his own signature rolls.. the David Roll (savory) and the Carribean Roll (sweet, not dessertish, just sweet)… both rolls were amazing and there is more to come try them!!!
I visited Sakana and was pleasantly surprised that; although under new management, David the Sushi Chef from Sapporo (previous restaurant located here) is the Sushi Chef for Sakana. With that said, sushi is still good! We enjoyed a Rainbow roll and Shrimp Teriyaki. Pricing is standard for sushi. Full disclosure, I visited while under a “soft-open” on Memorial day weekend 2018; can’t wait until they are fully up and running. I look forward to eating here regularly … enjoy!

The sushi was very nice. The menu items lacked flavor. The steak was overdone.
The ramen soup was totally flavorless.

The food was horrible, it had no flavor and tasted old. The worst I have eaten in a long time. We order one fry rice with scallions and one with out it and they both came out plain. We tried to tell the waitress but she was missing in action and when we finally got a hold of her she call the manager who was a very disrespectful person with no customer service and because I was translating to my friend who didn’t speak English, she insulted us saying that we didn’t have to be speaking in our language. Racist managers and careless cook.
