This is my third time visiting Saj Canton, and I continue to be impressed. The bakery items are always consistent, fresh, and absolutely delicious—it’s hard to walk out without grabbing a few to take home!
On this visit, I tried Jana’s Fresh Eats (located inside) for the first time. I loved the wide variety of options available to customize my bowl. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, the shawarma was perfectly seasoned, and the spicy hummus was definitely the standout for me—so flavorful and with just the right amount of heat.
I paired my meal with one of their freshly squeezed juices, and it really brought everything together into a clean and satisfying meal. I was also able to enjoy it outside on their spacious and beautiful patio area.
I also came with family this time, and it was great to see how the menu had something for everyone. With different cravings and preferences, it’s not always easy to please a group, but everyone left happy and impressed, especially with how quickly everything was prepared.
Looking forward to coming back again soon!

This restaurant/cafeteria is amazing. They have something for everyone. Staff is friendly and helpful while the food is all incredible. Been on a breakfast sandwich kick, they have real quality ingredients. Brioche is made in house and egg cooked to order!

Well Ahmed saved the day this morning when I walked in and requested enough shawarma to feed a tennis team. The staff at Saj quickly obliged by making the most delicious and beautiful tray in record time. The team gobbled it up and requested this to be a regular meal for them if possible. The folks at Saj offered me a delicious sweet treat as I waited and I had the best Yemeni chai I have ever had. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend.

The establishment is clean and offers a diverse selection. However, the portion size of the managesh was smaller than expected, although the taste was acceptable, and the service could be improved. The outdoor seating area is quite lovely.
I am updating my review to four stars as of October 10th
I revisited the establishment today between 6-7pm and ordered falafel sandwiches and Ismaliah sweets, both of which were enjoyable. The young woman at the cash register was exceptionally friendly and professional, as were the chef who prepared my sandwiches and the young man serving at Saj. I observed the young man decline a $20 tip from a satisfied customer. I certainly plan to return.

Regrettably, I found it necessary to adjust my rating and lower it to three stars following my visit yesterday. My wife and I ordered both the beef shawarma and the long meat and cheese managesh. It seemed to me that their man’ouche were noticeably thinner than those offered by other bakeries in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, or Canton. Despite already charging a premium price, higher than other bakeries, they appeared to be minimizing the thickness of the man’ouche, possibly to reduce costs. I am refraining from further comment, as I find such practices undesirable.

I love the vibrant & comfy atmosphere. Food is good, still need to try the new waffle sticks! One thing I would say I do not like it being extremely overcrowded! But other than that, the place & staff are very cool!

I came to Saj Canton a few days ago and was blown away by the attention to detail. I have a picture below of my view from the second floor of the Bakery.
The building is beautifully done, and so organized. My husband and I were warmly greeted as soon as we entered and I love that Greenland is next door. Makes breakfast and grocery shopping so convenient.
Everything at the bakery was so delicious such as their zaatar and Akawi manaesh. My 2 year old son is obsessed with their mini pizza’s and I loved that we could take our meal and sit upstairs. I even noticed a few students studying which was so nice to see.
The staff were so kind and helpful as there are a few vendors such as coffee and dessert on the bakery side. I am so excited that this opened up so close to my home. I highly recommend and will be a repeat customer for sure.

Highly recommend this place! Super fresh and delicious food. I’ve had their build your own bowl and it was fabulous and super fresh! Their kunafa as well was exceptional!

Me, my husband, and daughter came in today for the first time. Off the bat it was very clean. Not to mention all employees working together and being willing to help. The gentleman who helped us at the hot food area was so nice and patient. We had a lot of questions and not only did he explain everything so well, he introduced us to some new things and allowed us to sample some things. The stuffed waffle was so good. Everything was fresh, and all employees were just fantastic and friendly. We are so thankful for everyone taking the time to explain new foods to us and explain the culture. We will definitely be recommending to everyone and coming back!

Absolutely beautiful and stunning place. The store itself is very clean, modern, and well laid out, with a huge variety of options. It really feels like a one-stop shop for everything, which is super convenient, especially with a grocery store right in the same plaza.
The food is amazing and clearly high quality. It does get pretty busy around dinner time and on weekends, but there’s plenty of seating, so it never feels overwhelming. Overall, it’s a great place to eat, hang out, and socialize. Definitely worth checking out.
