Even though it’s a newer restaurant and bar, it already feels like it’s been part of the community foreve. Tucked away on Lizard Creek Road (895), with the kind of charm you’d expect from the old roadside inns in the area.
The food? Fantastic. The menu is intentionally small and changes week to week, but every dish I’ve tried has been fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. I’d normally point out a “must-try” dish, but honestly, it’s different every time—and just as good as the week before.
Prices are very reasonable considering the quality, this is upscale food and drinks without the upscale attitude.
It’s also not just a bar: there’s a roomy dining area if you’re looking for more of a sit-down experience.
They even host live music from time to time, which I haven’t caught yet but definitely plan to.
If you’re looking for a place with local charm, fresh and exciting food, and a welcoming atmosphere, The Lone Wolfe Tavern is worth the detour off the main road.
The atmosphere has that quiet, down-home country feel that makes you want to linger a little longer. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy your meal without the noise and rush of a chain restaurant. On top of that, they have an excellent selection of draft beer and bottles — a nice touch that pairs perfectly with the hearty menu.
One of the best parts is that the menu stays fresh, offering a nice variety while keeping those comfort-food staples that make you want to come back again and again. Between the warm hospitality, the cozy vibe, and the outstanding food, this place is a true hidden gem and absolutely worth a visit.
My better and I haven’t been here in over two years. One of our neighbors stopped in since the new owner had taken over.
We decided to check it out and we were impressed. The menu changes ever week which is an interesting concept. Think about it, you’re always trying something new, that’s my take on it. I had the Chilli Dogs which I love hot dogs. Well they were huge and they came with fresh cut fries, which were also delicious. I couldn’t eat it all. Linda got the roast beef sandwich on a sabota roll, also delicious with fries. We got desert to take home another item we both enjoyed later.
If your passing by car truck or motorcycle I recommend you check it out.
Oh I served in the Army, and one of my favorite beers in Germany was Krombacher. They have it on tap and serve it in a frosted stine type mug. It’s Germany’s number one pilsner, if you like pilsner beers, you’ll enjoy a Krombacher.
If you know anything about the tavern, it has a long bar with plenty of seating. Plus additional seats throughout the dinning area. Again nice old fashion bar and Tavern with great food and spirits….
