We stumbled upon this Thai restaurant by chance and it was a fantastic surprise! Since I’m not very familiar with Thai cuisine, we basically ordered blindly, but everything turned out to be absolutely delicious. Even the drinks were refreshing and perfectly made. The atmosphere was very pleasant and made us feel right at home. If you are looking for a great meal even if you don’t know the menu well, this is the place to go.

Food
Every dish we tried at SaiTong Thai was absolutely delicious, with vibrant flavours and great balance. The highlight, without a doubt, was the dessert, rich, well prepared and the perfect way to finish the meal. It’s clear that the kitchen puts real care into every plate.

Service
The staff are incredibly kind and friendly. Everyone we interacted with was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Ambience
If there’s one point that could be improved, it’s the décor. The space isn’t the most polished or visually appealing, especially compared to other restaurants in New York. Still, the quality of the food and the kindness of the team more than make up for it.

Conclusion
SaiTong Thai delivers excellent food and lovely service, even if the environment isn’t the strongest aspect. A great spot for anyone who values flavour and hospitality above aesthetics.

My friend and I stopped here before seeing Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre, and it was the perfect choice! The location is incredibly convenient – just a 4-minute walk from the theater district, so we had a relaxed dinner with plenty of time before the show.

We ordered the Mango Salad with Grilled Tiger Shrimp, Chicken Satay, Spicy Pork Hock Soup, and Crab Meat Fried Rice. Every single dish was excellent – the portions were generous, the flavors were authentic and well-balanced, and the quality of ingredients really stood out. The pork hock soup was perfect for a cold December evening. We also tried the Thai Mango Surprise cocktail which was delicious.

The ambiance is what really impressed us – despite being in Times Square, the restaurant has a sophisticated, intimate atmosphere with beautiful black and gold decor. It’s romantic without being stuffy, and surprisingly peaceful for the area. Service was attentive and perfectly paced.

The quality here is exceptional, and it’s clear they care about both the food and the experience. We’re already planning our next visit to try more of their menu!

I’ve been here a few times solo and enjoyed all my visits. Sat at the bar a few times and the service was very friendly and efficient. The food is seasoned well and full of flavor. Last visit I started with a curry pancake – like an empanada with I believe ground chicken, scallions, onions and curry powder. Served with the ubiquitous cucumber and onion tangy dipping sauce. It was nicely done. For my main I had a basil stir fry with chicken which was good as well. Portions are a healthy size. I’ll be back for sure.

In NYC to see a Matinee and went here after for dinner. I had the Chicken Sata and the peanut sauce was very good. Then my main was the “Chumphon” Pineapple Curry. A Thai pineapple southern curry with mussels and basil, topped with grilled sea bass fillets. Probably one of the top five Thai meals I’ve ever had. It was simply amazing, I highly recommend it, it’s special.

Would recommend this restaurant for the fast service, tasty food, and very nice (renovated) atmosphere and decor.
We found the traditional dishes (like Pad Thai) to be a little bland, and quite expensive ($22 for pork, $25 for beef, $39 for lobster) – esp. compared to the other Thai restaurant which is literally next door and 40% cheaper.
We tried the Fruit Curry Duck, which was an excellent crispy duck with a semi-spicy sauce – good size portion too. We paid $100 incl tip for two mains and two happy hour drinks.

Came here for my bestie’s bday which happens to fall at the end of the year, so of course the surrounding area was swarmed with tourists. The waiting area is super small and they had a few big parties waiting to be seated (ours included). I’ll admit being cramped up in a tiny space with inconsiderate strangers took away a bit from the experience for me but once we were being seated my mood immediately lifted. We booked the private dining area which gave our experience an exclusive, one of a kind feel. Our server JinTee was very accommodating, quick and informative! I simply came out to celebrate so I didn’t have my own meal but my friends loved their meals. The table shared the Thai crackers, the pancakes, springs rolls and the calamari (which had a nice crunch and light kick of spice). Just a heads up that the sautéed dishes come fried! Def a good date spot to impress your date, celebrate a friend’s birthday or any other celebratory occasion!

Every bite here was absolutely delicious. The tom kha gai and mango sticky rice desserts were the highlight of the dinner. Everything was very reasonably priced and the service was attentive without being overbearing. I’ll definitely be coming back here.

The food at SaiTong Thai exceeded my expectations, especially for a restaurant near Times Square. The Golden Sea appetizer was fresh and flavorful with a bright orange glaze, and the Chicken Satay was tender with a rich peanut sauce and refreshing cucumber relish. The Short Ribs Chu Chee stood out as the highlight, with soft, slow-cooked ribs in a creamy, aromatic curry. The Mango Delight made a great finish, pairing coconut sticky rice with mango ice cream.

The food we tried was delicious!! Seating upstairs and on main level. The mango salad with shrimp (a little spicy- not too much at all) and the curry pancakes are outstanding! I would come back again and again for those dishes- Best pancakes ever- nothing like a scallion pancake I’ve had before! The Thai crackers (with coconut shrimp and topped with a bit of pineapple and hot red pepper) were good- the rice cracker could be thinner. Unfortunately the margarita was terrible. It was stiff, foul no margarita mix. The mango drink with sticky rice on top was interesting- I liked it, bae wouldn’t order it again.
