Homey spot with a classic pho house lineup. Tasty broth and a lot of effort clearly put into plating and presentation. Service was solid but could be a little more attentive. Definitely will be a go-to spot for pho in Ottawa going forward.

After my second time at Saigon Boy, I decided it was time to post a review. It’s a quiet restaurant with amazing food, the best Vietnamese I’ve had in Ottawa so far. Really fast and friendly service. The rice dishes have a great amount of meat. The large pho bowls are enormous and super tasty. The fried spring rolls are crispy and flavorful.

Spent 3 weeks traveling in Vietnam and I’m almost ashamed to admit that Ottawa’s Saigon Boy is as good if not better than the best I had in Vietnam. Dining room is everything but fancy and I hope it never change as all that matters is that decadent broth … I recommend pho number 20 that has brisket and beef flank, 2 fatty cut that make it even more comforting. Me and my partner still try other places every once in a while hopping we can find a comparable since Saigon Boy closes early and aren’t open on Tuesdays but nothing compares ♂️

I enjoyed pho here a number of years ago now and was delighted to return for dinner. I got the house special Saigon boy pho and was very delighted. They did not cheap out on the meat. I loved the flavor of the broth. They bring tea and water. It was easy. Just cash or debit. It was a very short wait to eat and it was a delight from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Our first time there and we absolutely loved it. We had the veggie spring rolls, pork spring rolls, avocado shake, chicken & beef rice noodle soup, and pork & shrimp rice noodle soup. Very reasonably priced, good portion size, delicious food, clean and tidy restaurant, very polite, attentive, and friendly staff, and we didn’t wait long for our food. We’re definitely going back as soon as we can. Thank you for the great experience!!

pretty decent pho, not the best but will satiate your need for good broth and good meat.
i got the rare beef pho which could have used more flavor, perhaps salt as it was a little bland. but id order it again and maybe just ask for a salt shaker. not my favorite pho but still good!

The best place for pho in Ottawa. I have tried five places in Ottawa. This is the only one I go back. I go every month. Their pho is consistently tasty. I really like that their soup is very flavourful and all types of meat taste so good. Fresh spring rolls with grilled pork are great. Rice vermicelli with grilled pork and spring roll was great. It has a good portion of fresh shredded lettuce, cucumber, and carrot, so it tastes refreshing.

Small family restaurant with great food and service. Staff was very friendly and even brought me a tea while I was waiting for my takeout without even asking. We will definitely consider eating here again next time we are in town.
