Sage has literally the best food of its kind in Tallahassee. The service was fantastic and the food was inventive and delicious.

My only complaint is that the restaurant was a little dark for my taste. I appreciated the atmosphere but it was dark enough that I had trouble reading the menu. 10% brighter and I would give the atmosphere 5 stars too.

We visited for an early Thanksgiving celebration. The food was incredible. The best meal we’ve had in years! We started with roasted brussell sprouts and escargo. Plenty to share and delicious! For our mains we had the trout (their specialty) and the BBQ pork chop. Both were amazing! Since the mac ‘n cheese had good reviews we had a side of it. The mac ‘n cheese is very tasty, but is very large. Even with a party of 3 we had to box it up.
The desserts menu is very tempting, so we ended up sharing the caramel and apple cheesecake. Wow! So good! If you haven’t been here, you need to! We don’t live in Tally, but we will definitely be back!! Thank you for making it a special night for us, Sage! We’ll done!

Friend recommended this restaurant, my mom and I went. Mom had the trout plate, it was swimming in brown butter and tasted like oil than butter. The flavor of the trout was drowned out by the brown butter as you can see in picture one. The mushrooms were amazing. I myself had the bbq pork chop, it was insanely delicious. It melted in my mouth, mom loved it too. The dessert was yummy, salted Carmel apple cider cheesecake.
The waiter was very friendly and informative. He ran down the menu since we had many questions.
The service was slow, each time we needed anything; refills, bread, the check took at least 5-10min
It was a good experience, so is St.James in Thomasville.

We had a lovely dining experience at Sage in Tallahassee. The French onion soup was perfectly cooked and beautifully served—rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The mac and cheese was an excellent side to our meals, very well prepared, generously portioned, and nicely presented.

The char-grilled octopus was absolutely delicious and one of the highlights of the evening. The Provençal stew, however, was a bit too salty for our taste and ended up being our least favorite dish.

To finish on a high note, the crème brûlée was exquisite—perfectly executed and a wonderful ending to the meal.

The atmosphere was quiet, warm, and inviting, which made it especially enjoyable on a cold Tallahassee night. We also truly loved the service—attentive, professional, and welcoming throughout the evening.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and we look forward to returning.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Sage and it was absolutely perfect. The redfish was outstanding—beautifully prepared and full of flavor—and my husband is still talking about how excellent the wagyu burger was.

What truly made the night exceptional, though, was our server Sarah. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely celebrated without ever being overbearing. The service and food together made for a memorable evening, and we’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a great date night.

Wow the presentation is beautiful and full attention to detail. The flavor and texture is amazing. Pork chops macaroni and cheee, salmon chicken can’t go wrong. Right down to the bread. One of my top Tallahasee restaurants. A hidden gem !!! Chefs recipes are original, surprises your tongue with delights.

My husband surprised me and our daughter with dinner at Sage. He drove past and was curious so we stopped. It was on my list of places I wanted to try in a date night. We all were very underdressed to say the least. We arrived and they normally serve based on reservations and we did not have one. The host was so friendly and accommodating and sat us right away. The ambience was so nice and the server was also friendly and helpful in helping us make our selections. We had the deviled eggs appetizer and I had the pork chop and my husband the lamb chop and were exploding with flavor. Can’t wait to return for a date night!

I’ll start off by saying the service was terrific. Summer exhibited a high degree of attentiveness and courtesy. The food was a mixed bag. I started off with the pimento cheese which was extremely salty. However, the celery and carrots counteracted the salinity of the pimento cheese. So that ended up being a good dish. The flatbread was confusing because it was round like a pizza, but there wasn’t much depth in the flavors. Flatbreads are generally rectangular in shape. As for the shrimp burger, it was also excessively salty, but cooked decently. It came with a salad that was forgettable. They offered an up charge of $2 for fries which I found exorbitant since most restaurants generally give the fries without charge to accompany the burger. This is a place you visit for the ambience and service more than the food. If you’re looking for high-quality food, this place is a hard pass.

Took forever – main complaint. Deviled eggs are not $3. Charcuterie board was cool – well presented and cool choices. The chicken in the STUFFED JOYCE FARMS CHICKEN BREAST had delicious sukotash, but the chicken was a bit dry. Wife didn’t like the bathroom – no soap.

Tap water – really? Fire this price, we expected better.

One bathroom – miles!

It all started with arriving to our reserved table with luke-warm tap water, in glasses, already at the table. They could have been
poured two minutes before we got there or two hours based upon how long it took us to any attention from the waitstaff.
We all shared an array of appetizers and they food was just : so-so. One of the issues we had was the once crispy tempura fried oysters were plopped into spicy mayonnaise which completely “sogged-out” any crispiness. Next, the Brussels sprouts were scorched and swimming in oil. Third and final example is that the chocolate chip cookie came out burned on the bottom. Maybe it was a bad night for the restaurant but it was our only experience with it since we moved away 14 years ago.
