Saffron Social is relatively new to Peoria. Our server said they have been opened for a couple of years. I was hesitant to eat here by the very different ratings given to it on here (either very high or very low). I came for a lunch on a Friday afternoon and I am pleased to announce I had a pleasant experience.
The atmosphere of this place just speaks to luxury and high end. The booths are plush and comfortable. The ceilings high. The light fixtures cast a soft golden hue.
The food is a little on the expensive side, but at least for my meal, it was backed by quality. I got their short rib sandwich with fries. It is a luxurious version of a pulled pork sandwich and I really enjoyed it.
Brandon provided great service. He was present but not hovering. Granted it was Friday lunch and the volume of customers were low.
I had no problems with my time at Saffron Social. It was a stress free lunch where I could catch up with an old friend in gorgeous surroundings.

We were excited to support a local spot and truly want to give it another try, but our experience was a bit mixed. We had a reservation and initially were going to be seated at a high-top table, which wasn’t ideal for a sit-down dinner—especially since we had my grandmother with us. The staff did accommodate us with a different table, which we appreciated. However, our original table was then given away, and we were eventually seated in a very small booth for a party of four, which was quite uncomfortable. The drinks took a long time to come out, though I do want to note that our server was genuinely kind and attentive throughout the evening. For the price point, we were hoping for a more elevated experience. While it wasn’t bad, it didn’t quite match the cost or our expectations.
That said, we value having local restaurants in the community and would like to come back, hoping for a smoother experience next time.

Went for my birthday and it was my first time visiting. The service was amazing. Mackenzie was fantastic. The food was delicious and steak was cooked perfectly. Loved the bone marrow. For the price everything should be impressive, and it was.

I have a big appreciation for bars that put as much effort into their mocktails as their other drinks. The bar is a vibe! I love seeing the renovations of big industrial buildings like this. The ceilings are 20 feet high! The bar is well stocked and the staff was knowledgeable on the menu.

This place drips in opulence! I’ve never had a bad experience here. The happy hour menu is great, as is the lunch and dinner. The fried deviled eggs are to die for, and I’ll be dreaming of the Char Kway Teow, Kobe Beef with Rice Noodles, for weeks to come! Yummy! The service is always phenomenal (shout out to Braden), and the chocolate cake always comes home with me. When it’s time to celebrate a special event, or treat yourself, turn to Saffron to cure your cravings! (Sushi aside, phenomenal experience)

The food is excellent, the restaurant is beautiful, this place is a vibe; but most importantly, the service is on-point! EVERYONE was so polite and professional, very hospitable and JADE was the best, so happy she was our server/waitress…she did a great job…super friendly, knowledgeable and she has wonderful service. This was my first time here and I had a great time. Thank you for the experience! Also, Robert, (the manager) is wonderful!

Amazing all around. We stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. Drake was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I asked him to surprise me with a drink after I told him the types I liked. It’s was perfect!!! We got the edamame, coconut shrimp roll and shrimp tacos. The flavors were absolutely delicious. We will be coming back!!! Very clean including the bathrooms. All around pleasant experience.

I will make this short, don’t try anything besides the traditional steaks and chops here. It is like one of those old steak house from downtown moved here and got a face lift, but the food is the same. The sushi is not really edible, hard rice and plain, no vinegar, so much sauce on it, I honestly had no idea what I was eating, and that couple pieces of stir fried veggies next to the sushi just totally confused me. The mussels were the next worst thing, with thick curry paste? Did they accidentally overly thickened the curry broth? I don’t know what to make of that either. It is good to think outside of the box sometimes, but come on. You can forget about the pasta as well, bland, no flavor.
The steaks on the other hand were great, one of the best rib eyes that I have eve had, but if you are a surf and turf guy you can forget about it also, the lobster is not offered fresh, but chilled (think cocktail shrimp). That explains how many people usually get seafood here.

The first two photos of sushi from my first visit, food was perfect great taste even better presentation worth every penny. Me and my wife decided to go again thinking we would get something similar to our last visit, not even close the sushi was trash my 5year old son has mad better and for $18 diabolical. I don’t know what happened but the fall off needs to be studied, but far as everything else (A+) good food, great service ,lovely place just don’t get the sushi as the saying goes “They don’t make em like they use too”

It was mne and my fiance’s first time coming here tonight. When I made the reservation I requested an intimate cozy table for 2 if it was available. When we arrived the host walked us past several cozy looking booths that would have been ideal then the hostess seated us in the busiest brightest room in the entire restaurant. We each ordered a cocktail then we’re pressured to order the rest of our meal right away. When I ordered I made it clear that I wanted her to space out our food. Our appetizers arrived, before our drinks, 1/2 way through our appetizers we finally got our drinks. I was 3/4 the way through my soup and she walked up with our main entree. No consideration for timing whatsoever. The special was supposed to be a prime rib marinated steak over potato gnocchi with vegetables and what I was given was. Pretty basic pot roast made with what I believe to be a chuck roast because it was tough and not tender whatsoever. The only good part of my meal was my soup that I felt rushed to eat. My fiance got the seafood pasta, the scallops were tiny and flavor was lacking, the entire pasta dish was covered in Parmesan and parsley which was weird because often when served pasta you are given the choice to add Parmesan cheese on top, not forced to have it. Really disappointed in the quality of the food, the price does not match whatsoever and we will likely never go back. If you only like a place for the atmosphere then maybe you’d enjoy it.
