This is a no nonsense Thai restaurant. Ambience is very basic; it is clean & service efficient. I’ve never been able to get past the Pad Thai and mango salad …

A wonderful fine dining establishment in Lewisburg. Meals were thoughtfully prepared and perfectly cooked. Presentation was very professional. Beef bourguignon and wild mushroom ravioli were both amazing choices. Service and food was prompt with no awkward waiting periods. Drinks are BYOB. Understand that this is a small, intimate experience, and the chef obviously must shop weekly to prepare local, fresh dishes and rely on what is available or in season. Thus, some dishes may be sold out or unavailable – but we were happy to select other options. A gem in Lewisburg – highly recommended. This was our first visit, but won’t be our last!

Saffron is a gourmet gem in Lewisburg. It is great for special occasions, celebrations, and anytime you desire delectable dishes. The food is outstanding! The cuisine ranges from Mediterranean, Italian, French, and American. We enjoyed the escargot, mixed greens salad with figs and goat cheese, lamb lollipops, and filet mignon. The portions are generous and artfully presented. Chef Maher is personable and friendly. He makes everyone feel at home. Reservations are recommended. Be sure to BYOB. Bon appetit!

Update: went to give this place a second shot and they didn’t honor our reservation due to more staffing issues.

Great food, but I don’t think we will be going back. Fine dining prices, but it didn’t feel like a fine dining experience. We’re spending around $75 a person for dinner, and they charged us $3.50 for seconds on bread? I could see if we asked for beyond two helpings of bread, but I’ve never been charged for bread at a restaurant before other than Cracker Barrel. They are also BYOB, but they don’t really have much of a social media presence or advertising, so we had no idea and missed out on being able to enjoy wine with the great meal.

We were the only folks in the restaurant at dinner time on a Saturday, and the atmosphere was a bit uncomfortable. There was no music playing so it was dead quiet with the exception of being able to hear everything the staff were saying to each other, including their frustrations with reservation cancellations/the lack of guests that night.

They had high chairs available but no diaper changing station in the women’s bathroom. The bathroom was a bit gross for a fine dining restaurant as well. The soap dispenser and toilet paper holder were both empty, but they had some on a little table in the bathroom right next to their toilet bowl cleaner.

Lovely space. Tables can be close if all are full, similar to European style. Food is delectable. We had the mixed greens and the grilled romaine salads, both were delicious. Crab cigars are good and the appetizer special of brie with figs was amazing. Paella and Branzino were perfect. Salmon was reported to be cooked to perfection as well. It’s BYOB, so remember that if you want wine. It’s a pricey menu but so worth it!!! Just go. (If you are available for The Feast of Seven Fishes, it is definitely worth your while!)

So painfully mediocre.

This was me and my boyfriends first experience at a fine dining restaurant and let’s just say we won’t be recommending it or visiting this place again.

-We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time.
-Food was bland; we also got 4 individual pieces of bread and no butter. It felt like they were just ripping chunks off a grocery store loaf.
-A chef kept coming out into the dining room; which would typically be an issue if it weren’t for the fact that we was wearing pajama pants
-Before being seated they took our tablecloths in an effort to tidy the table then never replaced it, so we were one of the only tables with no tablecloth
-Decor was strange and unappealing as well as it being quite cold in there.
-The choice of music for a “high-class valentine day” dinner was not good either. It felt like I was listening to a 13 year old girls pop playlist. I much would’ve preferred piano or anything else really.

My boyfriend and I went to Applebees after because we were so unsatisfied

Went here for Valentine’s Day and the service was so bad. I don’t know how this place has any good reviews. I totally get it if a place is busy but we were basically ignored. We had a reservation for 7p. We weren’t seated until 730p. No one acknowledged us or even came to our table or gave us menus until after 830p… and this is after us asking for the menus. We weren’t served dinner until after 930p. The restaurant is very small and uncomfortable. There’s only about a dozen tables and it felt like they just forgot to give us a server or something. Which is crazy considering how small it is? The restaurant is BYOB and it was a small set menu so we were very surprised with the poor service. After 10pm we were told they were out of the desserts we originally ordered so we finally asked them to just box any deserts so we could just leave. Definitely won’t be returning here.

Very good food. Very good service. I wish i could remember her name but the young blond waitress was very pleasant and charming. Only downside was that several of the choices on the menu were unavailable, but i ordered one of the specials ( pork ossobuco) and it was delicious and a nice size portion.

I’ve been here several times and have always had a great experience. I’m concerned that it does seem to be a bit empty when Im here – not sure if it’s due to poor marketing, or location, or surrounding competition, but I think this place is a hidden gem! Hoping more people come and spread the word because it would be a shame to lose a place like this in Lewisburg where it’s a bit of a rarity.

In our opinion THE best restaurant in Lewisburg. The chef owner knows how to cook. We think the food rivals any restaurant in NY or Philadelphia. If you haven’t tried Safron you are really missing something special.

Everything was amazing! The wild mushroom ravioli and lamb lollipops were incredible. You can tell everything was made with intention and care. If you want a quick in and out- this isn’t the place for you. You have to appreciate the care that goes into food like this. The chef is very talented. BYOB as well!!!
