We were barely given any time—maybe two minutes at best—to look over the menu. When I asked for a couple more minutes, he flat-out refused, insisting that he was taking the order right now.
So, we quickly ordered a starter and two main courses. While the food tasted good, we had to wait nearly 45 minutes, and our order wasn’t served until 8:40 PM. To make things worse, the starter and main courses arrived almost at the same time, just a couple of minutes apart.
What frustrated us the most was seeing them take dessert orders from other tables at 8:45 PM—long after they rushed us to order.
The food was good, the mango lassi was super sour (mango flavor was not there looks like they blended a lot of yogurt)
but the service was terrible. Since this happened both times we visited, we won’t be going back.
The deserts especially Shahi Gulab Jamun was delicious. Overall had a hearty lunch !
Entering Saffron, you’ll be welcomed by a clean, traditional Indian setting. It’s not flashy, but it’s warm, inviting, and well-kept. It’s as if you’re stepping into a mini India right here in Missouri – a testament to the authenticity of their food.
Service-wise, it was pretty standard. The team was bustling around, serving the customers – a good sign of a popular spot. While the service wasn’t overly personalized, they were quick and got our orders right, which is all you really need for a satisfying dining experience.
Now, let’s talk about the real deal – the food. We kicked things off with Gobhi Lasanwalla, Aloo Parantha, and Peshwari Naan. The Gobhi Lasanwalla was the standout – perfectly cooked cauliflower florets bursting with flavor. The Aloo Parantha and Peshwari Naan were just as delightful, setting the bar high for what was to come.
For our mains, we opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala and Kadhai Lamb. Served over rice, both dishes were simply top-notch. The Chicken Tikka Masala was creamy and subtly spiced, while the Kadhai Lamb was tender, savory, and packed with flavor.
In a nutshell, Saffron might not be the fanciest place around, but their food is absolutely stellar. So, if you’re in Town and Country, Missouri, and are craving authentic Indian flavors, Saffron is a must-try. From me, it’s a well-deserved 5 out of 5!
