Ate here a few nights ago, and realised upon entering we ate here around 20 years ago when last in Warwick! It was excellent then and is now. Very clean, smartly decorated restaurant, lovely staff looking after you, Salah was a true gentleman! Food quality, taste and presentation was excellent. Good wine selection too.

Random pick when in Warwick for the night and so glad we went! Restaurant was well presented, staff helpful and friendly and the food was some of the best Indian dishes we have had. The poppadoms were only £1 each and came with the mango chutney, raiti, hot red sauce & tomato&onion salad, the assorted veggie starter was big enough to share and they even gave us a side plate of salad without asking (pic after I’d cut each item). My husband was very impressed with his Salmon curry served on a fished shaped plate and I loved my dakeshwari which was a cross between korma & TM..

With 3 alcoholic and 2 pints of soft drink it was still under £70 which i thought was very reasonable.

From the snippets.lf conversation I heard it sounded like the rest of the customers were all regulars which is a great sign too.

Highly recommend!

Lovely staff, very attentive. Was busy on a Thursday so if your a group it would probably be worth booking. You can tell a lot from an Indian restaurant from their pompadoms & these were crispy, hot & freshly cooked.
Onion bhajis & aloo chaat for starters (it wasn’t authentic chaat but tasted nice) onion bhajis was delicious.
We had seen the size of portions coming out so ordered “side” size & we still couldn’t finish it all.
Fish tika was lovely as were dhal & potatoes. Favourite was paneer makhani, it was delicious but again wasn’t a traditional makhani. Paratha, rice & 3 pints of cobra. It was all great & if I lived in Warwick I’d eat here all the time

I had high hopes for Saffron Gold, an Indian curry house nestled in Warwick, but sadly, it was a mixed bag.

Let’s start with the good: the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly — the kind that makes you feel welcome the moment you step through the door. And the naan bread? Easily the highlight of the meal. Freshly cooked in a Kashmir tandoori oven, it was soft, pillowy, and slightly charred in all the right places. If I could have just eaten a basket of that, I might be writing a very different review.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to the naan. I ordered a fish curry, which arrived looking rather sad — grey, rubbery, and alarmingly overcooked. Texture aside, the flavor lacked depth and didn’t bring the rich, fragrant punch you’d expect from a proper Indian curry house.

The real kicker? Let’s just say my digestive system went on a turbulent journey for several days afterward. I’m not sure what ingredient triggered it, but I spent more time in the bathroom than I care to admit.

In short: friendly service and phenomenal naan, but the rest of the meal left me regretting the visit. Proceed with caution — and maybe bring your own Imodium.

Popped in during the Warwick mop with the family. Staff were kind and quick to serve us, place looks clean and classy, the food was wonderful. I had a chicken and mushroom pathia madras hot (my usual dish but the first time here) it was beautiful! Thank you saffron.
