The area is cute. Saw a hawk fly over the car when we got there. Very farmhouse vibe inside. Decorated with antique baby clothes, which was unique but a little weird, and early farmhouse items. Table and chairs for all. No booths. I went with my partner and we were served water immediately as well as 2 slices of sunflower seed bread and 2 slices of cinnamon raisin bread with butter. I assume they were homemade as it states they are also a bakery. Bread was soft and fresh. We ordered escargot for the appetizer. It was 6 pieces in this special dish. They were already taken from the shell and soaked in a delicious garlic butter and around that was sliced white bread toast. The escargot was honestly the highlight of the meal unfortunately. The drink menu only consisted of wine and beer, though they did have angry orchard which I was grateful for. My partner ordered chicken pot pie and I ordered the half duckling. His pot pie was tasteless and the peas tasted canned. My duck came with carrots, zucchini, and…. I forgot the other veggie, plus a scoop of mashed butternut squash. The vegetables were steamed and put on the plate. There was absolutely no seasoning or butter or any kind of flavor whatsoever. The duck had a pineapple salsa that my partner took to mix into his pot pie to give it flavor and the orange glaze was tasty but not plentiful. Duck is a red meat and usually comes with a beautiful layer of fat over the breast. This was not how my portion came. Perhaps it was because it was “duckling”? Unsure. We were served quickly and were checked on casually throughout the meal. The prices were fair, the place was very clean.
The town it is in has a very particular type of people that are established in the area and we did not fit that type, however, we were welcomed and treated kindly which I could truly appreciate. Parking was easy, though we were unsure where to enter the building at first due it sharing a lot with a flower shop. But since the flower shop had signs, we could figure out where to enter through process of elimination. Overall, it was a unique attempt at something new. I can’t say I would recommend it or return.

Small place with intimate homey atmosphere with tables that sit largely 4 unless butted up against each other. Place gets busy around meals and the staff is happy and on their toes providing. The burger was a thick patty but okay. I think it’s probably better to order any of the fish related dishes (which I will do next time).
Ample parking around but that belies the fact that it’s pretty tight inside with limited waiting area. Come tail end of lunch (1:30) to more easily grab a table for two or 4.

Adorable and cozy ambiance — cute wooden farmhouse feel and has a nice fireplace. Food was average — comfort food that was ok, but nothing special (e.g. veggies were clearly frozen veggies defrosted). So come for the ambiance and maybe a snack and some beer/wine, but don’t come for the food.

I recently purchased 84$ worth of cookies for the holiday and they were less than desirable. The cookies were over cooked and hard as rocks. I called the restaurant to express my disappointment as I have purchased cookies from this restaurant for the past 18 years. I was told I would receive a refund for half of my purchase. After several days, I noticed that nothing was credited back to my debit card so I phoned again and was told the manager came in at 4 PM. They took my name and number and said she would return my phone call. It is now one week and a day and I have yet to receive a refund for my purchase or a phone call as promised. I will no longer be purchasing any cookies for the Christmas holiday from this restaurant and have been very disappointed with their follow up

I’ve been by Sadler’s countless times and today was the day I told my wife we’d go to lunch there. I highly suggest a reservation because it was hopping when we arrived at 12:30 on a Thursday. Beside the regular menu October brings their German Octoberfest menu with German dishes, desserts, beer and wine.
I decided to be daring and ordered the Sardine sandwich. It arrived at the table and had a couple of good sized sardine fillets with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise between some delicious homemade crusty bread. Accompanying it was a small dish of warm German potato salad. My wife ordered the corned beef Rueben that was also served on homemade sandwich bread with kraut and accompanied by a bag of Utz brand potato chips and homemade coleslaw. For dessert I chose the German apple strudel topped with vanilla ice cream and she the Indian Pudding also topped with vanilla ice cream as well. Beverages were two glasses of Octoberfest beer, two glasses of Port and 2 cups of coffee. Total without gratuity was $92 and change…quite reasonable.
We’re excited to return soon for dinner.
