I ordered from this place on the 3rd. I ordered Baked chicken with white rice and Mac and cheese. It all costed $23.52. It was the bomb.com. The chicken was juicy and falling off the bone. The Mac and cheese was not too salty or bland, it was just the way I like it. The rice was not as pleasing to me as everything else. It was dry. They gave me a side of cornbread and it was amazing. I also tried their catfish, candied yams and turkey wings a day or two ago and that was okay. I’m not ordering the yams again. Not good. The turkey was too salty. I really loved the catfish. I will buy it again. All in all I give them a 8/10. They can do better with adding more things to their menu.

9 months later and I went back for the same dish I had. I was so disappointed. It wasn’t the same quality of food and the Mac wasn’t as cheesy as last time. They had just opened and the food was cold. The chicken was so amazing last time but this time, there was no flavor on it. The worst part was having to constantly pick out feathers. I’m sure it was probably an off day so I’d consider going back just to give it a final chance. I was just so underwhelmed this time around.

Not this place! This was one of the best Mac & Cheeses I’ve ever had! Definitely top 3. The chicken wings were good and crispy but the Mac took me surprise. This place is nowhere near me but I’ll definitely go there just for the Mac.

My pregnancy craving told me to order from this place and I’m sorry I did… I ordered two plates of chicken wings & fried shrimp w/ yams and mac. The wings & shrimp were burnt and dry, clearly left in the fryer too long or the oil was very old. Not sure why the cook would serve this to a paying customer. The yams were more like sweet potato mash covered in nutmeg; there wasn’t any chunks of yam in either plate. The cornbread was crumbled and did not hold its form. The food was such a disappointment and I unfortunately had to throw most of it away, which I hate doing. I wish I would have gotten my money back. I used to come here all the time when it was called Paula’s and the food used to be good.

This cornbread and thin and dry. They should be giving it for free let alone charge for a side. The yams were pretty much mashed potatoes. Order for delivery and was highly disappointed.

I have been to this spot twice. Excellent soul food, some of the best I have ever eaten from an outside establishment. It’s basically a take put spot, with limited seats, maybe 3-4. The Whiting Fish, Beef Ribs, Turkey Wings, Teryaki Salmon are all excellent choices. The Yams, Mac & Cheese are delicious. Service could be better though. Cashier seemed like she had an attitude problem, as if she didn’t want to be there. The only real downfall, they didn’t have everything available on the menu. I would highly suggest updating the menu if you are not going to have everything on it. For example, besides a few other items as well, it is false advertisement to have only 4 desserts but have 12 on the menu.

This place needs to go out of business. Chicken and fish was burnt and dry. Corn bread was stale so was the cake. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. Never ever again I wouldn’t try them if it was for free.

This was my first time ever ordering and honestly it was good but could be better my oxtails were shredded up so small into a lot of oily juice and when I went to suck on the bones they taste like freezer the Mac could have had a bit more flavor and the collard greens was good no complain there. My husbands rice and beans (peas) was hard, his ribs were good but not fresh.. overall everything could have been way fresher the Mac some more flavor corn bread too sweet

I had to take the time to review them. This is by far THE BEST soul food that I have tasted from a restaurant in the Bronx. I’m originally not from NYC so tasting food that gets southern dishes right not only warms my heart but makes me feel a sense of home! Thank you for my amazing meal of: buffalo wings , candied yams and Mac and cheese (2x). The only reason that I did not give them a 5 star rating is because I ordered through UberEats so I’m saving that last star for when I can have the experience of the restaurant in person. They will def get my business
