Sac’s Kitchen is a family owned business with a friendly atmosphere. Mrs. Sarah Douglas (Co-Owner) started cooking at the tender age of twelve, and has continued since. It’s a dream come true to own my own business along with my son, Carlos Burwell. (Co-Owner). All of our food is homemade, and our vegetables are never canned, always fresh daily! At Sac’s we all have a love for cooking, and it warms our heart to see others enjoying our food. May God bless and we look forward to seeing you soon! Remember : It ain’t good unless you SAC’N!

I will start by saying the BEST hot water cornbread I’ve had in Alabama was from here!!! I ordered a fried pork chop plate with collards, black eyed peas, double cornbread with a side of peach cobbler and everything was delicious!!

I am never disappointed whenever my sister recommends a place! Sister came through! It was a line out the door but the wait was not too long. The place is a bit small but that did not deter me from wanting to try out a restaurant I have not been to. Everything on the line looked good. I chose the lemon pepper chicken and dressing. The food was seasoned pretty good and I feel as though I got my money’s worth. The staff was friendly and I will be coming back whenever I am in the area again.

First I’ll say that their catfish fillet is awesome. After waiting 15 min just to place my order. It went downhill from there. Order 1 catfish plate and a fried pork chop plate. Sign says to allow 15-20 min. There is no where to sit and wait so I placed my order and went to my car. Waited 18 minutes and went back inside. Stood another 10 minutes before asking whats the status. The lady tells me that they have online orders too and only one space to fry fish. Ok but I’ve waited the time and now I’m standing….in heels. Another 5 minutes and someone in the back tells her it will be 8 minutes. Ok so now we’re over 30 minutes since I placed the order. Eventually I asked if I can get a refund and leave. The lady told me that only a manager can do it and no one is there to do it. How awful is that type service!! I refuse to believe that no one in the restaurant can fix register issues. So I had to either wait or leave without food. I considered just leaving and disputing the charge with me cc company but wanted to be fair. Finally get it and check my plates in the car. The attached pictures show how over cooked and old that pork chop is. Absolutely no way I waited 40 minutes just to get this. Wasnt even hot or fresh. To make things worse, I get home to realize that I have cranberry sauce but they forgot to put the darn dressing on the plate!!! Candied yams looks like running mushed potatoes. Nope, I can’t condone this type service or recommend anyone to patronize them. Just having someone to try to follow up with me would have made this better; instead of having to keep asking as if she didnt see me there. They were not busy. A chair or two for those waiting would also be nice. How about opening each plate in front of the customer to allow them to inspect so that issues can be handled before they leave. I live 30 minutes away so I was not returning. Money wasted. By the way, at no point was I rude or disrespectful and neither were they.

ATTENTION, EVERYONE!!! This is the best kept secret in soul food. From the time we walked in and were greeted by the two young ladies, who guided us through our decision on what to eat. My suggestion is to just get a spoon full of everything the portions are a nice size. The owners Sarah and Carlos and operators are absolutely wonderful. Thank you for your hospitality and I’ll see you soon. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, then you don’t know what you’re missing. By the way, they also have a bar and James the bartender was great.

Easily the best restaurant in the area. We get to the Ardmore / Huntsville area about once a month and have been really disappointed at the food choices until today when we stumbled upon Sac’s kitchen. It’s a traditional meat & 3 but with so much more charm and authenticity. Everyone there was super friendly, and the food was terrific. I couldn’t choose between the liver / onions and the ribs so I did the ribs with a side of liver and onions. The blackberry cobbler is a must-try, and my girlfriend had the fried chicken which she loved. I will 100% be back next time we go down. Seriously, amazing food.

This is a great little soul kitchen. You order at the bar and seat yourself or take it to go. I had a patty melt and fried green tomatoes and it was delicious. Also had some catfish and pinto beans and mac which were all so good. Even my son at all his food. I also loved seein how helpful the staff was and how they help the guests at the tables as well with disabilities. Great place.

I found a gem. Been in Huntsville nearly 8 years and never new about this place. Barely tasted a dish an associate ordered and my mouth knows there is more to try. I can’t wait to explore this menu. The location is definitely hidden because I’ve driven this street a million times and never noticed the place. Though it’s seemingly hidden the locals are definitely aware of this place. I look forward to adding a food review in the future.

Update I went back and the dishes I tried blew my mind. I was so eager to eat I forgot to take a picture before digging in. Best lunch ever. I had lemon pepper chicken perfectly seasoned. Dressing & gravy to live for mashed potatoes like none other and cabbage with an edge. My Aunt had the same with mac and cheese that was heavenly, and just a side note I don’t eat anybody mac & cheese but it was good and tasty! The sweet potatoes which were delicious. I just didnt have a taste for it.. They let me taste test the greens they were pretty good too. I will be dining here more often. Staff was extremely friendly fly and kind hearted. The owner was in the back making the dishes I guess. It’s def one of the highlights of Huntsville but very well hidden. I bet they would get mamy more customers if the was a sign near the road.
