This was one of my favorite places to go when I went to Luther. As an alumni, it’s fun to stop in on my way through town. The food is always great and the service is even better. I appreciate the hospitality and the variety in the menu. I had the Plant Stack most recently and it was very filling, tasty, and affordable. I’ll definitely be back again, and it’s an easy 5 stars from me!

While staying in town, this is my boyfriend and I’s favorite breakfast spot. He always gets the “All-American” with a pancake and I order whatever I’m in the mood for that morning. I like the country fried steak and a side of bacon. The coffee is good and the waitresses are friendly and attentive with refills. We like to get there early to beat the breakfast rush.

Our family from out of state was staying down the road and was lucky to find this spot. We ate breakfast here almost every day. Each time the food was good and well-portioned & the service was friendly. Definitely recommend the strawberry rhubarb, banana cream, and peach pies!

We live on the other side of Iowa and stopped in while visiting the museum nearby. The staff was friendly and the menu was honestly mind blowing with more than one plant based vegan option! Thank you for having these options available and double thank you for being open Mondays! I shared photos of the vegan “chicken” tenders, hash-browns w/vegan cheese, peppers and onions, nacho fries w/vegan chorizo, vegan cheese. Great vibes and seriously cute town!

I had the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The beef was not sliced paper thin like most restaurants. It was thicker and meatier.
The gravy was delicious and the potatoes were very good. A sandwich like my mother might have made. She never had a knife sharp enough to slice a roast paper thin and it didn’t matter.
I have had breakfast here several times and I have never been disappointed.
I’ll be back.

Couldn’t be happier with my experience at Family table. This place attracts people from all walks of life. College students, college professors, blue collar, white collar; everyone comes to the family table for a no fuss experience.
The service was wonderful. My coffee cup was never empty for more than a minute. It seems like many regulars come here as they were greeted by name. We were just passing through and felt like we were treated like family.
The food was hot and delicious. Your typical diner fare. Prices were super affordable so my wife and I also ordered a Belgian waffle to split. You can definitively feed your entire family here without breaking the bank. Highly recommend the family table for all looking for a good meal!

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the town of Decorah. I had the steak and eggs omlette and my girlfriend has the fried chicken special. Both meals were served promptly and hot. We were waited on very well and the servers made sure to keep my coffee full. The price of the meal was very reasonable compared to other diners in town. You know this place is good because alot of the local retired folks eat here and it can be hard to get seated. I would highly recommend!
