My girlfriend and I were exploring Detroit on Thanksgiving Day, hoping to find a spot for dinner, and Saab Sis Thai in Royal Oak was a lifesaver—it was open, welcoming, and just perfect for a cozy evening. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to sit down and relax. The service was friendly and attentive, which really added to the experience.
As for the food—it did not disappoint. The spring rolls were classic and delicious, and every dish we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality. Overall, a solid Thai spot with a great vibe, excellent service, and tasty food. Definitely a place I’d go back to without hesitation.

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! We ordered the Beef Pad See Ew, Saab Sis Crab Fried Rice, Tom Yum Soup, and Thai Iced Tea, and every single dish was bursting with authentic flavor.
The Crab Fried Rice was the absolute highlight — rich, buttery, and melts in your mouth with real crab meat in every bite. The Beef Pad See Ew had tender, flavorful beef with perfectly chewy noodles and that delicious smoky wok taste. The Tom Yum Soup was perfectly balanced — spicy, tangy, and aromatic, full of depth and freshness. And the Thai Iced Tea was smooth, creamy, and refreshing — the perfect way to end the meal.
What really made the experience special was the wonderful staff and genuine hospitality. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and attentive. They checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, offered great recommendations, and served everything with a smile. You can tell they truly care about their food and their guests.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, fall decors, the food came out quickly, and everything tasted freshly made. Easily one of the best Thai dining experiences I’ve had — both for the food and the people. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know!

I love this place so much. The food is always consistent and delicious. So its become a comfort food place for me. Great flavors and always very accommodating with my food requests. Tom Kar is the best Ive had in the area. The inside is cosy and in a semi sunken style. The ginger lemon tea and thai tea are delicious. I could go on. Theyre super nice too.
Ive dinned in. Done take out. And delivery. Never disappointed

Seated quickly even without reservation. Pretty busy on Saturday night but well worth it. Food was delicious and we’re very picky about our Thai. Husband had the pineapple fried rice best we’ve had. Appetizer combo was great variety. Pad woon sen was also great. Thai tea yum! Will definitely be back

had a fantastic experience at Saab Sis Thai! The pineapple fried rice was so good and the drunken noodles had just the right amount of spice and flavor. The chicken wings were tasty and the butterfly lemonade was a refreshing and fun twist to finish the meal. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal. Highly recommend!!!

The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
We tried the Pad Thai, Crispy Garlic Chicken, and Tom Kha Soup — every dish was perfectly balanced in taste. The Pad Thai had that perfect smoky wok flavor, the chicken was crispy and juicy, and the coconut soup was rich yet refreshing.
The Thai Iced Tea is a must-try — sweet, creamy, and perfect with the spicy dishes!
The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made it a great place for both casual dinners and small gatherings.
Overall, an excellent Thai restaurant in Ann Arbor — highly recommend to anyone craving authentic Thai food! ✨

Ordered carryout Satay chicken and chicken pad se ew. Went to pick up food at estimated time which was 45 minutes after ordering online. Food was not ready, very busy inside and a worker said they had many carry out orders. The place had a nice atmosphere but seemed a little cramped . Food was ready for pickup about an hour after ordering . When I got home , which is less than one mile away, they satay was cold, even less than room temperature. I tried it, flavor was meh and the texture was dry and stringy. The dipping sauces were good but there was no saving the chicken. The satay went into the garbage. Hungry and dissapointed i tried the noodles. Another let down but atleast it was still warm. The noodles were clumped together and mushy, it had 5-6 small pieces of chicken and the broccoli was pathetic. There was one piece that resembled a florette and the rest was just leaves that looked and tasted like wilted spinach. Flavor of the brown sauce was underwhelming, no complexity of sweet and savory I was looking forward to. The whole order felt rushed and thrown together. Both dishes ended up in the trash.
I emailed the business that same day and still haven’t heard back, almost 2 weeks ago.

We saw many people recommending this special Thai restaurant online, so we decided to have our last dinner here in Detroit. There were not too many seats, so it was convenient to make a reservation.
We ordered some popular items. Their signature wings and papaya salad tasted great as appetizers. We really expected our entrees. However, the green curry and pineapple fried rice could be the worst that I have had at Thai restaurants. They looked great but tasted weird with cheap ingredients. The dining room was lovely, but I felt our table was a little sticky. Service was kind of slow and WiFi was not available. Anyway, the price was great with a good size. I like Thai food, but the food here was mediocre.

Everything was AMAZING! We are from the Lansing area & had been crazing Thai food. Our expectations were blown out of the water! It’s SO cute inside, all of the staff were very friendly. We will for sure be back every time we are in the area! I got the chicken drunken noodles mild, my husband got chicken pad Thai medium spice & we shared spring rolls. The spring rolls had a homemade sweet and sour – SO good! Great prices & we have leftovers! There were many street parking spots nearby as well as a parking garage!

I am just so frustrated at this point, I am going to give up on finding Thai food in my area. Had high hopes for this place but the Pad Thai was just not good. I’ve had it many times (including in Thailand) so I know what it should look and taste like. Immediately when I got this home and saw it I knew it was not right. The flavors were all off, and the medium spice is almost inedible. Spring rolls were also underdone and bland. I’m sad.
