S & G Restaurant, located at 339 Potomac Ave in Quantico, VA, has quickly garnered a reputation as a breakfast haven, drawing regulars and newcomers alike.

This was my second time dining at S & G.
The first visit caught me off guard, in a very good way, so I came back with the intention of sitting down and reviewing the food.
I ordered the breakfast sampler, which came with crispy pork bacon, greasy pork sausage, perfectly salty pork ham, fried eggs (done however you like), and a side of hashbrowns that are worth dying for (though you can choose from a variety of sides). The whole plate hit that comforting, real American diner balance: salty, crispy, and soft in all the right places.
But the real standout was the French toast. Thick and dense, yet still soft, it soaked up the syrup beautifully and somehow kept tasting better with each bite. It was piled with strawberries and bananas, and the smell was something else, sweet fruit, powdered sugar, and syrup blending into the bitter aroma of black coffee and the rich, salty scent of the meats.
The coffee was absolutely invigorating.
S & G doesn’t rely on looks, but it captures exactly what a breakfast diner is meant to be.
I’m definitely coming back for a third round.

A simple, no frills cafe with a friendly staff and good food. This cafe reminds me of local “Mom & Pop” establishments that were prevalent before chain restaurants became the norm. Our food was served hot and tasted great. The only disappointment was the coffee was pretty “strong”. I recommend this restaurant.

What a hidden gem. A friend invited me for breakfast at this place and it was wonderful. Downtown Quantico main street area with home town feel. Service was fantastic and the steak and eggs (sorry, no pic) was great. The ribeye was a big serving and the price point was far less than I expected. As an Army guy, I still felt comfortable 🙂 Seriously, its good eats.

My husband and I love coming here for breakfast, which is served all day! We want to try other menu items but we end up always ordering the same thing every time we go because it’s so good! The attached photo is our usual order: French toast combo and French toast Royale combo. We highly recommend this place. Great food, great service! 🙂

My husband frequented here when he lived here on base a few years back and was excited to bring me here when we moved here.
To start off : They have very friendly and fast service, they are always kind and helpful and not to mention their food is so clean and fresh tasting!

It is probably the best breakfast sandwich I could ask for, I could write a paragraph on it alone
I am leaving a longer review because everything about this business is done with excellence.
This place may be overlooked often but it definitely should be appreciated!!!
Their dedication to provide Quality meals, keep things consistent and make it delicious is an art.
Also pictured is another detail I wanted to point out : just how well they handle their food orders that are to-go!
To manually place holes in their boxes mean they care about the quality of their food and don’t want it to get too steamed up in the box for their customers.
They truly care about every aspect.

First time visiting. Went with 4 other military personnel. Very cozy breakfast cafe. The food we ordered were all good portions and ok for the price. The customer service is ok also; took them awhile to take our order & drinks. Once they deliver food/drinks we had to keep stopping them & asking for refills of our drinks. They don’t come to you, you have to ask them for what you want. I may return.

Very fast service with some quality food – came with a group and we were in and out in under 30 minutes. Moderate prices and serves both breakfast and lunch menus if you can’t decide on what you want! Definitely a repeat if at Quantico again. Note – when ready to check out just walk to the front at pay at the register!

S&G has been around for a very long time. I was stationed on Quantico Base from 1997-1999. The food was good then, just like it’s good now. Still have that old school vibe. The services are outstanding. Atmosphere outstanding and welcoming. I didn’t give a 5 stars because it’s still the old school restaurant and not much changed.

Excellent old school dinner. Great home cooked meal without having to cook it yourself. I had the steak, and eggs, along with hashbrowns and French toast. Everything was great! If you haven’t been here and you are ever on Quantico it is definitely worth the stop.
