Hey guys, this is who you call “Sister Teresa”;; when ever I place my order. I usually come thru on Wednesdays when I’m in Stockbridge working. I don’t eat out much, and I rarely check reviews – because I don’t eat out much, but I referred your restaurant to a youngan who does check reviews ; and she didn’t care for the low scores which is pretty much about y’all attitude – which I admit- can use a little work. But my stamp is about THE FOOD! I probably pop in RUTH’S up to 3 times a month, which is a lot for me – BECAUSE again – I don’t eat out much. But I loooove how Miss Ruth’s seasons their food, I like to taste the seasoning, and I usually get the brown stewed chicken , which is my favorite. With the jerk chicken coming in second and then the curry is my third favorite. The cabbage and yams are my favorites and I always ask for it to be my main, with the rice as a side. The taste never disappoints , it’s always FRESH to me, especially those yams that do not have brown sugar – which is the southern way of cooking yams, but I do not care for southern style yams when I’m eating Jamaican, so I love the way Ruth’s prepares them. So I’m giving Ruth’s all 5 stars because I told them, that AS LONG AS THE FOOD IS CONSISTENT – and it is FOR me – I will keep coming back.
Today I tried the brown stewed Salmon – and it was delish. Great job as usual, so I will return, as long as the FOOD REMAINS CONSISTENT. ❤️

3/3/26-Response to the ignorant and unprofessional owner. I am certainly not lying, see the picture below of my credit card transaction from yesterday. Evidently incompetent and rude staff didn’t know how to do a split payment. You can report all you want! I am in healthcare and certainly not an employee of Caribbean Cravings. I thought the same thing when I got home and discovered that it was no jerk sauce on the slop that I was served on yesterday. That mess is not fit for a dog! As I said before your nasty and disgusting arrogant behavior will be your downfall. GOD will take care of you and your evil ways. To repeat, report all you want to! You need to be careful….. 😉

Today was the second and last time I will step foot in this sham of a place! I’ll stick with Caribbean Cravings on Hudson Bridge Rd. I wish I could give a zero rating; 1 star is too generous. As someone mentioned already the man at the counter is absolutely horrible and rude beyond belief! After waiting over a half a hour, this mess (pictures below) was supposed to jerk pork; we got a bowl full of fat and barely any jerk sauce. Look at the responses from the owner listed below, which speaks volumes-UTTERLY DISGUSTING RESPONSES from the owner!! One thing is for sure, GOD deals with arrogance, evil and proud filled people. I felt so bad for the door dashers who waited for almost 30 minutes for the pickup. Don’t try to submit a split payment as I did, the rude man had the audacity to ask me “You don’t have the full payment on your card?!” It was extremely offensive, he didn’t know what my circumstances were, and the sacrifice I made to attempt to treat my family. An awful experience all around! Take the advice that the owner mentioned to someone else and Google another restaurant if you want a good experience. You definitely won’t get it with them!

Recommended by a friend. Finally got to try it out. Good food. Good service. Food was reasonably priced and good portion sizes and flavor. I could taste the freshness and the quality of the food. The place is really cute, nicely decorated, the restrooms were clean. A good spot to have a small get together, simple dinner date, meet and greet, etc.

My only issue was the music, there were two stations playing on both sides of the restaurant at the same time. A bit disorienting, but once you pick a side to sit, the music balances out.

I had the jerk chicken, but I will be back to try the curry chicken!

Overall, a good food spot.

Someone recommended this place for Jamaican breakfast food. I however choose to have dinner. I had a small chicken soup and a medium curry goat. The food was just ok. It wasn’t bad, but it was great either. Will I return? Not likely.

I was very disappointed with my order, they have a no refund sign and when you tell them the food isn’t up to par, they cut you off and just say nothing I can do because there is no refund. The food is far from cheap. They blame the oven, and anything but them being the problem. The food and service has been declining over the past few months. Today was the last day they got my money. Just look at this soggy beef patty they charge almost $4 for, the response when I called was I don’t know what you want me to do because there is no refund Ma’am I have to go and hung up. NEVER EVER WILL I SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY THERE. Mind you I wasn’t asking for a refund, just acknowledge that those patty’s aren’t up to standard. No apologies just excuses. Just sad
I found an excellent restaurant around the corner on Rock Quarry next to the car wash, Trelawny. The staff is great, the food is amazing. Way better menu. Never dry and they have a full bar. Atmosphere is very homey. A must go to

I ordered on-line a large jerk chicken with bread fruit and plantain on the side. I got a meal not really a large , chicken slathered in jerk sauce no breadfruit or plantain only cabbage rice and peas and sweet potatoe. I called to get clarification and no answer. Not ordering again. Maybe it’s better face to face.

I love to support black owned businesses. Hubby and I decided to try the oxtails because we pass the diner all the time. The person ahead of me complained about her fish being too salty the night before and she couldn’t even eat it. The owner was nice to her and made her more. The person behind me got yams and an apology. I did see some elements of customer service. However, I waited the longest. People after me were served before me even if they weren’t a call in order. When I got my food, I asked to look at it. The meat portion was skimpy. The owner told me that I would have 7 oxtails. I definitely didn’t. The oxtails were so tiny. I mentioned the small portion and he said, “What, you thought you’d have more…”. I reminded him that it was by my first time. He didn’t even try to offer me more. He insisted that more oxtail were under the others. I walked away with less than 7 bones/oxtails, and it wasn’t because they were fall off the bone tender. The gravy was not rich and think like you’d expect. There were no beef patties when I went so I may be back to try those because I haven’t found any in Atlanta that are good. I will give credit where it’s due. The rice and peas were like clouds so light and fluffy. They were seasoned perfectly definitely the best on this side of town. Other then beef patties or rice and peas, I will not be returning. If you’re looking for a spot in the area go to Silver Sands, now called Queen. The oxtail portions are better and has a rich gravy. They are pretty accommodating too. You can go in and order oxtail only.

I was really disappointed with my order from Ruth’s. I ordered jerk chicken and instead got what tasted like BBQ chicken with barely any seasoning. On top of that, the chicken was dry and overcooked, definitely not fresh or flavorful. I’ve had Jamaican food many times before, and this was by far the most underwhelming. It lacked the spice, smoke, and authenticity you expect from jerk. Very let down and wouldn’t order again.

The oxtail was just okay.

I also got the mac and cheese, and I really don’t know what that was supposed to be. It had a strange taste I couldn’t place not like any mac and cheese I’ve had before. I’ve never eaten mac at a Jamaican spot, so I don’t know If that’s how it’s “supposed” to taste, if so I’ll pass.

The rice and peas were different they used jasmine rice, which isn’t traditional, but it wasn’t bad. The cabbage and sweet potatoes were actually good, so there were some positives.

The place was clean and the cashier was polite, the food just didn’t hit the mark.

Food taste pretty good
Wish the portion was a lil bigger, they were smaller then what I’m use to, but I will be back to taste the brown chicken stew.
The chicken soup was good also, except I don’t don’t eat the feet part tho, but it was good,
If you haven’t been please try them out.
Oh I had some fried chicken too, sorry no pictures of that I ate them.up before I could take pictures but it was good also,
Highly recommend to try them out
