Went to Ruth Chris for the first time for a special occasion. The decor is a bit dark and dated. However, the service was top notch. One of the best service we received from any restaurant in Mobile. The sides were excellent and the steaks were perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

My wife and I ate dinner at Ruth’s Chris in Mobile on 7/29/2023. The food, the service by Sam (Samantha) and her team, and the atmosphere were excellent. Sam went above and beyond to makes this a very enjoyable outing. This is a very well run fine restaurant. We will return soon. Thank you!

Worse experience I ever had!!! The outside is unkept and needs attention, inside had musk smell but decided to sit anyways which I soon regretted. The bread they serve was hard and gross, I ordered a filet which they butterflied it had a weird taste like something was wrong with it, no flavor and burnt it was truly the worse steak I’ve had in my 40 years eating steak, mash potatoes were ok nothing worth bragging about we ordered barbecue shrimp and the shrimp was tough over cooked and sauce was bland…if I order a $57 steak I expect the best and ended up with the worse, never again! Server was nice and did a great job only thing good there! I’ve been a server for over 22 years so I rarely judge and never post reviews but it was this bad that I felt it necessary!

Such a bummer. I love this place. I’ve spent every birthday there for 20 years. But this time, the steak was charred on the outside, the tuna appetizer was tepid, and I got my drink and bread for the table at the same time we got our steaks, which was our 3rd course. In their defense, I was there with a large group for a work presentation so I understand service will suffer. But the food quality shouldn’t. They didn’t serve us simultaneously (again, totally understand why) so it’s not like things were stuck waiting around in the kitchen. Overall I’m disappointed. Most of the people in the group had never been there, and I hate that this was their first experience. None of them thought they would return.

Order the porterhouse for 2 called and paid via the phone as I didn’t want to dine out. I arrived to pick up my steak and this was the most unwelcoming experience ever. After giving my credit card again to pay I was told the order wasn’t ready and it would be up shortly. I moved away from the counter outside of the walkway against the wall to wait. There is no drive thru. Well I was told you can’t stand there. Looking confused I asked why and was told you are dining in. Dine in customers only inside, wait outside there is an entrance on the SIDE of the building. You will be notified when you can go there to pick it up but the lobby is for dine in customers waiting to be seated.

Based on reviews, it seems that the quality of food/service at this location is rather inconsistent. For the price paid, that is just not a great look. We have dined here three times over the last five years or so. My steak has always been cooked to my liking, always delicious, but I’ve had mixed experiences with the side items. I’m annoyed by the fact that they don’t like to provide steak sauce without being snooty about it. I find the phone policy VERY poorly throughout as well… I have seen plenty of servers take photos of their guests at the table, yet other guests have been denied the same opportunity… that’s not okay. My daughter has ALWAYS used her phone at our visits and no one has ever told her to put it away, she uses her phone with earbuds in because she has social anxiety in restaurants, she is hurting no one and making no noise. I understand prohibiting phone calls and anything that makes an audible sound, but to prevent photos and the use of a phone on silent is unacceptable when your patrons are dropping hundreds of dollars to dine here. Rethink the policy and improve it.

I ordered the stuffed jalapeño peppers as an appetizer. They were crispy on the outside but could’ve cooked longer on the inside. In other words they were cooked too fast in my opinion. My husband and I both ordered lemonades and they were very good and very tart. The waitress had to bring me some liquid sugar for mine. The porterhouse steak was more than enough for us with garlic mash potatoes and the waitresses and waiters were nice.

Amazing steak dinner! Well worth the wait! Finally cashed in my Christmas gift card. We enjoyed ALL of the dishes we had. What a great experience! We will be back in the near future. I would’ve taken more pictures, but they frown on having phones/cameras out during dinner. LOL

First time at Ruth’s Chris (anywhere), and what a great treat it truly was. Our waiter Greggory was beyond impressive. Amazing recommendations with a wonderful personality. Everything we tried was far more pleasing than expected, and rich in flavors. The room we were seated in had a comfortably elegant atmosphere. Looking forward to returning in the future! Thank you to the whole staff.
