My husband and I arrived around 6:15 PM, ordered simple entrées—stuffed chicken, salmon, and salads—and yet, we didn’t receive our food until after 7:29 PM. During that entire time, we watched table after table—each arriving well after us—be served their meals, greeted by staff, and even celebrated for special occasions. A gentleman in a blue blazer personally wished a nearby guest a happy birthday, yet walked past our table where birthday confetti clearly marked the celebration.
No one came to check on us or explain the delay until we asked, and even then, the response felt dismissive. Despite the clear disparity in service, not a single manager approached our table to apologize or acknowledge the situation. We paid our $170+ bill and left quietly, but deeply disappointed.
This wasn’t just about slow service—it was about being made to feel unseen and unwelcome in a space where we had every right to celebrate like anyone else. I believe in supporting businesses that value all guests equally, and unfortunately, this experience made it clear that this establishment does not.
I share this review not out of anger, but out of hope that Ruth’s Chris Greenville will reflect on how such treatment affects its guests and take steps to ensure no one else feels the same.
Service with our waiter, David Nabors, was exquisite. We would request him on our next visit, if possible. Since we were celebrating our 50 year wedding anniversary, we were so pleased to get seating at the windows overlooking the river. Just an all around perfect evening. Can’t wait to return!
So Kyle was great at the restaurant brought us a wine menu and bread. We waited a half hour to order wine -nothing. We would have spent a lot here again we love R Chris
No way. We went somewhere else it was great.
The Lobster was tough. They served the lobster knuckle which we couldn’t open. The crab was good and shrimp were OK too. Not worth an hour wait.
We had Filet mignon and garlic roasted sea bass which were ok.
The steak was over cooked on one end and done perfectly on the other end. The creamed spinach were good.
We’ve been to a few Ruth Chris in New York, New Jersey and Cherokee, North Carolina and California and I swear I always get the fish and it never tastes like this fish did or served on such a small plate. I know it’s the holidays and they may be shorted a dishwasher but serve on normal size plates, please.
So we overheard there was a fight in the kitchen and apparently the chefs were throwing dishes at each other hence the small dinner plate.
We got lucky to get the last window table.
All in all, we hit the restaurant on an off day. We will not order the fish again or go on Christmas.
My filet was given to me as “blue”, which isn’t even close to medium, TWICE, which was followed by the manager talking to me on the third attempt. They then comped a couple things for the trouble, but at that point it was an hour before I was even able to eat after placing my order. All in all, not worth the cost or trouble. Even Texas Roadhouse can cook a medium steak the first try.
