Worth the trip. Amazing fish and chips with a friendly staff. Don’t even get me started on the delicious hushpuppies. Thanks to Columbus Foodies for the suggestion.

Update- decided to stop by for lunch and something different. Got their quarter pound cheese burger platter all the way. The sandwich was a decent size and the toppings were fresh and piled on a toasted bun. I have to say they have some super tasty burgers! A+ on that! The fries were fresh and flavorful and there were two bonus hush puppies in there. This time there was a different staff and they were still just as pleasant and attentive as the first time I went. I can say without a doubt I will be coming back and bringing people I work with too. Consistency is key and so far so good. Had to add stars for the food. I wasn’t a fan of the fish because it was a little bland in my opinion, maybe it was just an off day, but that burger was top notch and that says a lot for something that isn’t their flagship.

Original- After reading some reviews I decided to try Rusty’s out for lunch on my way home from work. Things to know upfront include parking is on the other side of the building you see from 310 and so is the entrance, you order and pay at the counter when you walk in, you leave your tray and baskets on the table when you’re done and they clean up. The service was outstanding and the employees seemed light hearted and happy to be there. I ordered the fish and chips ,since that what seems to be popular, and a side of cole slaw. The food came out timely although it was early and I was the only one there. It’s cooked when you order so it is definitely fresh but I could see it taking time if they were busy. The fish was a little lackluster in my opinion as It seemed dry and lacking flavor but the batter was nice and crispy. The fries were definitely different than most and crispy. They were seasoned with something similar to rallys but not too salty or spicy. The hush puppies were crispy and similar to captain D’s although much smaller. The coleslaw was fresh, cold, and had an excellent flavor and did not have fennel. The drink was a little flat but I’m sure I got the line pop since I was probably the first customer. All in all I wouldn’t turn down going to Rusty’s again and would like to try other items from the menu.

Came in last weekend for the first time, and will definitely be back. The fish and fries were both perfectly cooked and super crispy. The hushpuppies were fantastic and could have qualified as a dessert themselves. Definitely try the clam chowder which was top 5 I have had. It beat chowder I have had in view of the water.
(Photo includes the fish and chips, the chowder had already disappeared somehow)

I went for their seafood, and it taste just as good as marino’s, if you have been. They even put a delicious lemon peper seasoning on their smelts! Every thing is delicious and made to order. They also have wings and burgers for those not into seafood. They sell beer if you’re into that. It’s a bit far out east, but we’ll worth the trip. And the staff are very friendly and helpful.

If you like fried fish… you won’t be disappointed!! Their clam chowder is SO tasty!!! Id put it up against The Pearl restaurant’s clam chowder but the vibe is super low key, unassuming. You can get beer but that’s probably it. I’ve also tried and loved the fried clams and fried smelt!!! Yum!!! The tarter sauce is GOOD!! This is an amazing lunch spot with the best fried fish around!

My husband and I first tried Rusty’s Wharf a couple of years ago, but we got takeout just before closing and, unfortunately, weren’t thrilled with the experience. Recently, we decided to give it another try, and this time, we were not disappointed! The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was professional and polite, and the restaurant had a clean, inviting atmosphere with a charming rustic beach vibe. We’ll definitely be dining in again!

Rustys Wharf did not disappoint, blows Long John Silvers out of the park! (I liked LJS as a kid, but not anymore, and have been looking for something similar is terms of hush puppies and crispy batter) The food is prepared to order, very fresh and not greasy like most battered fried fish. The hush puppies were truly outstanding! For under $22, we enjoyed the 2-piece fish and chips and fish sandwich with fries and hush puppies. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. We certainly plan to return!

Service was good and everyone was friendly. The atmosphere is cool and they had good coleslaw and sweet tea. The fish and fries was bland and didn’t taste bad, it just didn’t have any taste at all. It was our first and last visit.

Decided that I would check out Rusty’s Wharf in Pataskala today. It’s in a small strip mall. You are greeted at the counter and place your order and go in and sit down at a table. When your order is ready it is brought to your table. I ordered the Fish/shrimp that came with chips and 2 hush puppies. Also had coleslaw, baked beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is made with two types of cheese with bread crumbs on top. Very smooth taste to it. The baked beans had the slightest cinnamon added to them which most places make the mistake of adding too much much to it. The coleslaw was made up with finely chopped vegetables with a nice smooth tasting sauce. Almost comparable to KFC’s, really delicious. The chips were fried perfectly. The fish was a nice flaky piece. Very nice. The shrimp had the perfect texture and crunch to it. The star of show was the Hush Puppies, made homemade. They the perfect texture and crunch to them. What a perfect flavor. Next time I will order more. Yes there will be a next time. As I was leaving I got to take a few minutes to talk with Katie who I believe is the manager. Added bonus talked with the cook. They both were really informative talking about the business. You could tell that they were super excited about the customer experience. Can’t wait to go back.
