This was such a good experience! My husband searched “hole in the wall” restaurants and found this place. The portions are huge and the food is flavorful! I couldn’t even finish my burger and had to bring it home. It was such a treat. The food came out in a timely fashion and staff were great.

I’ve always been able to count on a great meal here, but my most recent visit took the experience to a whole new level. What truly stood out this time was the staff. From the moment my family and I walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely happy to help.
The team made us feel like more than just another customer—they treated us like VIP. They checked in at just the right moments, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive.
It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the service shine this brightly. I’ve always enjoyed coming here for the meals, but now the atmosphere and hospitality make it even more special. Huge credit to the staff for creating such a warm and memorable experience—I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

My husband and I both got the Brickhouse Chicken sandwich and we got the fried cheese to share. The fried cheese sticks were huge! The food was delicious! We don’t have a single complaint. The staff was friendly and the manager was going around chatting with people and was really friendly too. If you’re near Covington you should definitely stop by and try this place!

The burger looked great , giant portions but overall lacked any flavor ,the meat had zero salt . It was supposed to have a chipotle, mayo, and it did have a small drizzle on top as you can see in the picture, but it did nothing to help with the flavor of the burger. If they would season their meat, I would easily give this burger, a seven out of 10 but the way it was served to me today unfortunately I can’t give it higher than maybe a five

Great little casual neighborhood resturant. I have eaten here many times both locations. Several times on Hwy 1085 in Terra Bella and Mandeville. Good choices are the fried soft shell crab, and the catfish basket, onion rings are good. I am not a big catfish fan but it is fried right with a light batter in strips and a sweet flavor. My son likes the burgers and Gumbo. Like the atmosphere and patio Good friendly service and beer. Salads are also good. I’ve had the shrimp salad and good

Redemption. Look at those shrimp on the po boy and onion rings! One more shrimp and they couldn’t close the container.
Last time, I ordered 2 bacon cheddar burgers, medium. Trust me, order your burger medium rare!!! Great fries and good onion rings.
Just ordered the Holland special. Basically a shrimp po boy with bacon and Swiss cheese, delicious and plentiful. Grilled shrimp and Avocado salad great as well.

Visited today for the first time. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Greg at the front door offering High 5’s, and were promptly walked through the process of how to order and what to expect. Appetizers came out quickly, (which the fried pickles were perfect), and the entrees came out quickly after that and were also incredible. Customer service was phenomenal all around. From the beginning to the end, staff were attentive and engaging. Greg even showed us the wall of hot sauce that is available for customer use. After our meals we opted to purchase some of their sweet goodies that were near the register, which turns out are crafted by someone who works there and were out of this world! Overall, the experience was one of the absolute best we have had at a restaurant. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

we were traveling to Covington and looking for places to try around town. Because of the holiday many places were closed but this restaurant was open – the reviews and menu looked good so decided to try it

overall, food quality and portion size was good. ambiance was also good but customer service was lacking

we started off with the onion rings which were thick rings and a decent better; we then got the half poboy + shrimp gumbo and both were good; the seafood platter with sweet potato fries and finally the grilled shrimp tacos which were also good and flavorful and came with fries. each item was good with good flavors and quality; the fries were average and there was an extra charge for cocktail sauce which was not detailed.

overall good food and good portion size but customer service and details, especially if you there for the first time, needs to improve

This is a great everyday restaurant. Everything is really good. All good is served hot and fresh. The staff is always friendly and fast. Be warned that available tables may be in short supply at prime times.

Update: This place continues to have excellent food served quickly and served by the friendliest of staff.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at the Rusty Pelican’s Covington location, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

The ordering process is refreshingly informal—simply walk up to the window, place your order, and then take a seat. The friendly staff brings your food out promptly, making it a perfect spot for a quick and satisfying lunch. For those on the go, they also offer convenient pickup options.

The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Buffalo Shrimp—flash-fried Gulf shrimp tossed in their signature “Hot and Bothered” buffalo sauce, served with their “Often Imitated Never Duplicated” homemade ranch dressing. The Fried Green Tomatoes were another standout, crispy and flavorful, paired perfectly with their remoulade sauce.

The atmosphere is quaint and rustic, with a cozy charm that makes you feel right at home. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a meal, whether you’re dining solo or with friends.

Overall, the Rusty Pelican in Covington offers excellent food, friendly service, and a welcoming environment. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
