The view is excellent at this restaurant! The food was amazing! We’ve had oysters before but these were huge and juicy! You can taste the flavor of the sea and you don’t even need any sauces! We got the surf and turf, lobster poutine, and lobster sandwich for the main dishes. For the dessert we got the chocolate cake and skor cake. Everything was very delicious and it was a treat to enjoy the view while dining. The server we had was very friendly

Luckily, we stopped at the very busy Rusty Anchor on the last day of the fall season – and what a fabulous lunch it was. The lobster roll was the most generous and finely constructed I ever had (with butter only, no taste-obscuring mayo served here). I am still incredulous about the amount of perfectly cooked lobster I received in that roll – Thank you.
The seafood chowder was full of various seafood – bay scallops, shrimp, pieces of fish, in a broth redolent of the sea, and the pristine oysters were perfectly shucked.
An excellent restaurant in a beautiful place.

Wow, what a fantastic dining experience! The service was truly exceptional, and everyone was so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the lobster poutine, which was a real treat. Even though I have a hearty appetite, I couldn’t quite finish the whole plate – it was incredibly generous! Overall, I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go back.

This is definitely a great place I would recommend my friends to come. You can tell the fish in fish burgers is fresh. And the crispy is just the best way you want. The tea biscuit is also yum.

We had a great meal. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and always making sure we had everything we needed and our glasses stayed full. The food was just as impressive. I ordered the fish sandwich, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had: two big, perfectly cooked fillets with bacon and a delicious sauce. It was huge, filling, and incredibly tasty.

My spouse had a salad that was also wonderful—fresh, flavorful, and a very generous portion. Neither of us left hungry, and the prices were very reasonable.

It’s a perfect stop along the Cabot Trail, with that classic family‑diner feel and great service to match. Highly recommend.

The food tastes okay, but the prices are shockingly high even for a tourist destination. Half a snow crab cost $49 before tax – and the processing plant is just half an hour away! The seafood wrap, advertised as a mix of lobster, scallop, shrimp, and crab, actually contained imitation crab instead of real crab. I would only recommend the lobster roll as the portion is big and tastes very fresh.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch during our travels, and I sure am glad we did. The fish and chips were excellent. My wife had the lobster roll (which I tried), and it was excellent as well. The scenery from here is beautiful as well. Great service in a welcoming atmosphere. A must try in my eyes.

If you’re cruising the Cabot Trail and craving seafood with a view, the Rusty Anchor is a gem you shouldn’t miss. We stopped here after a long day of exploring and were instantly charmed by the laid-back vibe and friendly folks. The Haddock fish burger was crispy and flavorful, and the veggie burger and wrap? Surprisingly hearty and satisfying.

Must try if you’re around Pleasant Bay.

Over the course of our 5 days at Cabot trial, we ordered fish and chips four times. The best I’ve ever eaten, I couldn’t care less what else was on the menu. It’s ridiculously cheap at $19.99 for the fish portion

Cleanliness and excellent customer service are the hallmarks of these places.
