Rustom Restaurant is a great place in Edinburgh for anyone who appreciates delicious Indian food and excellent service. We had a business meeting and dinner there with a group of 14 people, and everything was organised really well. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and professional, and the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. The food was full of flavour, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The area is very busy, so I didn’t risk driving and took a taxi instead. It’s a perfect spot for a group dinner, as well as a lovely place to visit with family and friends.

We visited Rustom Restaurant and had an amazing experience. On our first visit during dinner, we were assisted by Mr. Khan, who was very helpful, well-spoken, and courteous. The food was delicious, full of flavour, and made us feel as if we were no longer in Edinburgh. The ambience of the restaurant is top-notch, and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.
On our next visit during lunchtime, we were assisted by Mr. Ajeet, who was really professional, friendly, and guided us perfectly with our food order. Once again, the food was outstanding.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our visits and would highly recommend Rustom Restaurant for its great service and excellent food. Will definitely come back.

I went with my mom. Being new to UK our server Prashant, not only helped us with the food but also made us feel like we at home again. The food was JUST WOW. AMAZING NO WORDS! If you are a vegetarian A MILLION OPTIONS FOR YOU… and I would totally recommend to try the paneer tikka karahi. Beautiful. Great experience

Our concierge recommended Rustom as the best Indian restaurant during our stay in Edinburgh and he certainly wasn’t wrong. We had warm, welcoming service from Prashant. He was a delight to connect with over the duration of the course of a most delicious Indian dinner.We ordered the Handi lamb, Lahori chicken kebabs and Karachi chicken and each dish was bursting with authentic flavor. Highly recommend it and wish we were staying longer so we could come back for another meal!

Great Indo-Pak food! Very Authentic food. Try all kinds of Karahi. Sunny is a good host at this place. Very ideal location by the Haymarket along the Princess Street! They play nice old Instrumental songs as well!!

We were travelling in Edinburgh and decided to visit this Pakistani restaurant, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the staff and manager were noticeably unwelcoming towards us. While they appeared friendly and engaging with customers from their own community, we felt ignored, rushed, and treated differently throughout.
Our order was taken late, and despite being only two people, we were told we had to order one curry each. This policy was unreasonable, we have been to busiest of restaurants here during our travel here and didn’t experience anything like this before. Also while we were still visibly eating, they attempted to clear our plates and table around 9:45 pm, even though the restaurant closes at 11 pm. This made the behaviour feel unnecessary and rushed, and we genuinely did not understand the urgency.
The curry portions were very small, and when we raised this politely, the response was dismissive and arrogant. We were simply told that they have been serving the “same quantity for 8 years,” with no attempt to listen or engage respectfully.
Overall, the behaviour of the staff came across as rude, biased, and unprofessional. We did not feel welcomed, respected, or valued as paying customers. We went there with no preconceived notions or issues – we chose the restaurant, paid for the food, and expected basic courtesy and equal treatment, which is the bare minimum.
Based on our experience, I would strongly advise Indian customers to avoid this place if possible.
