Everything was delicious and truly scrumptious.. The butter chicken was easily one of the best I’ve ever had, and the garlic naan was made to perfection. The samosas could use some improvement—specifically a crispier outer layer and a bit more seasoning,; edible but not impressive.
If you miss India, this place helps pacify that feeling, capturing the essence in every detail, right down to the beautiful Bollywood music

I was really looking forward to dining at Purnima with my husband. Having lived around the world, we’ve had the chance to experience many cuisines, and Indian food has always been one of our favorites. Unfortunately, the flavors here fell a bit short of our expectations.

The vegetable samosas and cheese sticks lacked flavor, and even the pilau rice was quite bland, missing that aromatic spice that usually defines Indian cuisine. On a positive note, both the Chicken Balti and Chicken Tikka Masala had good flavor — the Balti, in particular, carried a nice level of spice that we really enjoyed.

The service was friendly, though it felt somewhat rushed, almost as if they wanted us to finish quickly and leave, even though nothing was said directly. For dessert, the carrot cake was surprisingly good — moist and flavorful.

The decor and ambiance were truly beautiful; it’s clear that a lot of thought and investment went into creating a warm and inviting space. I just wish the same attention could be reflected in the depth of flavor in the dishes.

Indian cuisine is known for its bold spices, aromas, and heat — that unique balance is what makes it so special. I understand that some guests might prefer milder dishes, but the essence of the cuisine should still shine through. I was a bit disappointed overall but hopeful that the restaurant will make some adjustments to better showcase the incredible flavors Indian food has to offer.

The Purnima experience was fantastic. They have maintained high standards for many years. Abdul, our waiter was excellent and very attentive. We’ll be back.

Go only for the interiors. It’s definitely great with live plants throughout the restaurant. However the food is not really authentic Indian food. We ordered palak pakora, daal makhani and Chana masala. Would not recommend if you want Indian food experience.

Being an Indian, I’m very skeptical about trying Indian food out there. However, this restaurant serves delicious food. Whether it’s starter, mains or dessert, every cuisine were amazing quality. I loved the pistachio kulfi. Highly recommended!!

Amazing service, Excellent staff and served very well by Abdul.

Was really craving for Indian food and went all the way to Purnima from our hotel. It was worth the walk going there ans going back! Maybe I just haven’t had Indian food in so long, but the butter chicken, despite only having breast part, was so soft and flavorful. I had it with biryani rice and some lamb samosa. The samosa was just okay for me, but overall I was really happy with my order. I got it for takeout and it was still good once I got to the hotel. They prepared it quickly, too!

Service: I will start with the service the waiter was so rude he had headphones on so he would barely hear us we had to sign to him for him to come and generally didn’t feel welcomed or get any kind of proper service feels like we entered his home and will eat without paying.

Food:

Either too bland or too spicy I don’t understand maybe they don’t measure the spices and this is coming from a person who eats Indian food consistently.

Overall I don’t recommend it for anyone not even my worst enemy .

Purnima serves very good food! The food was very tasty and you get a lot for your money.
The ambience is something special! A lot of value has been put into it and it pays off. Very nicely decorated and you don’t feel like you’re in a typical Indian restaurant.

The only thing that wasn’t right was the service. The order was taken by a friendly employee. The food was then carelessly slammed onto the table by another employee.
It wouldn’t be asking much to put the food on the table and at least wish you bon appetit.

Portions were small and sauces were watery. We have dined many times at Bangalore every time we came into Madrid to visit, even know the staff by name, surprised to hear it was an italian restaurant now. We have dined at Udaipur as well (part of their chain), but service and treatment was rude to the point having to be stern with staff. One one occasion they described visibly raw chicken as “juicy”. We thought the way we got treated was an isolated incident, but it got repeated on two more occasions and never returned (same said by my sister and her husband with some friends). We were recommended to try Purnima by the staff at Bangalore, beautiful decorations, nice place but I have never experienced runny sauces on my plate with Indian cuisine, they are usually thicker. I love Indian, have had it for years. In Andalucia we order or dine once a week (after trying all Indian restaurants of our area). Dinning in Bangalore in Madrid was a highlight for us.
