Reviews
Rustic Tavern doesn’t take reservations for parties under 8, which is perfectly fine — just be prepared to wait 40 minutes or more during busy times.
The atmosphere is exactly what the name suggests — rustic and inviting. It’s a nice setting. The food was decent for the price point. I wasn’t expecting to be blown away, and I wasn’t — but it was solid.
The cocktails, however, were disappointing. The pours were very light, served in smaller glasses that were only about ¾ full. That feels a little insulting, especially at current menu prices.
We were also seated near the hostess station where a strongly scented candle was burning. The fragrance was so overpowering that you could actually taste it while eating. That was hard to overlook.
The light cocktail pours are a possible deal breaker for a future visit — but candle-flavored burgers might be the clincher.
If you appreciate “family owned” true hospitality and amazing quality food, this is a must stop.
Service was steady and professional. The waitress stayed attentive, checked in at the right times, and handled everything without delay or distraction.
Food quality stood out. The beef was excellent, sourced from Warrington Meats in Dillsburg, and the freshness showed in both flavor and texture. The ribs were tender, the steaks were cooked correctly, and the hamburgers were solid and satisfying. Onion rings came out crisp with clean crunch, not greasy. Fries were hot and fresh from the fryer.
Consistent execution across service, atmosphere, and food. Return-worthy. Recommended for ribs, steaks, and burgers.
Only had speciality burgers and fresh cut fries/sweet potato fries. Local beef. You taste the difference. A little higher in price, but well worth it for the taste.
Expect to pay more $$ for the fresh ingredients. A full dinner for 2 plus drinks & tip will cost you a Ben Franklin.
Full bar with bar seating. We sat across from the bar and the kitchen. Back looked a little dated. Women’s single bathroom had some updates. No paper towels, only hand dryer, which I do not use.
Had such a great experience at Rustic Tavern in Carlisle! The atmosphere was super warm and welcoming My girlfriend and I got a little turned around at first (two doors got us ), but everyone was so kind and helped point us in the right direction.
The staff was incredibly friendly and patient—especially with my dietary needs. Ordering was easy, the food came out perfectly cooked, and best of all, no stomach issues at all That’s a win in my book!
We had a wonderful night, and I can’t wait to come back. Thank you for the great service and great vibes!
